Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Ash and the Evil Dead franchise, but WHY?
He doesn't fit in MK AT ALL. He fights and kills deadites, as well as the demonic forces of darkness. It would be absolutely improbable to see him fighting the normal people like Cassie, Sonya, Johnny, or hell even Sub-Zero.
Hell the last time he encountered non-deadite enhanced people were marvel's superheroes, and you never saw him trying to kill them.
I'm just saying, the guy is more fitted to taking on deadites and demons, rather than half the MK roster. Hell he'd be trying to hit up all the ladies rather than chainsaw them in half.
Like I said, WHY do people want Ash for a game that does not suit his character AT ALL?

Million dollar question tbh.

Ash could easily fit in the story. All you'd have to say is the Necronomicon transported him to the Netherrealm and that's his reason for being there.

Gotta tell you. Of the tens of thousands of guest character requests I've gone through (forums, Twitter, Facebook, e-mail) over the last year - Ash hasn't been a stand-out.
People always wanted to see Ash take on horror icons in the movies. Most mentions are usually connected to the same horror icons who're now guest fighters in MKX. Par for the course, at this point. He killed a bunch of zombie deadites. Might as well get the one in the hockey mask?

Ash is cool in my opinion. I would gladly accept him as DLC. Groovy!
Good god, people just can't get over characters supposedly not "fitting in", can they?
The same thing has been said about Stryker, the Cyborgs, Bo Rai Cho, and Ferra/Torr. How does Ash fit any less than they do? And no, being a guest does not automatically makes him unfitting.
And making a big deal of him fighting other humans, OP, honestly? Story and gameplay have never really been friends in the MK series. Does it make sense for Jacqui and Jax to be killing one another? Does it even make sense for the good guys to be killing people so gruesomely and happily? Johnny in MK9's story mode didn't want to kill anyone, yet here he was shoving oscars in his opponent's split head during one of his fatalities.
In short, OP, your arguments don't even make a lick of sense.

I think he makes a fine argument. Hes a fucking dumb choice for a mk kharacter. Hes not a martial artist, he's not a soldier, he's not a sorcerer, hes... Idk what he's supposed to be. It's a perfectly reasonable argument to say he doesn't fit in mk. And I thought Jason was a bad choice for a guest....Good god, people just can't get over characters supposedly not "fitting in", can they?

He's a guy who works at S-mart. That's who he is.
@DG1OA Actually it does make a lick of sense because if you've ever watched any of the movies, read any of the comics, or played any of the games, Ash never kills any humans. ever. Also I'm not making it a big deal about it, I'm just asking WHY d people want him in the game.
It just baffles me is all.

haha s Mart.. that just makes our point even more. He has literally ZERO business or potential for MK. I'm glad the list of practical choices for guests are all but gone now so the guest character phenomenon will die out. Predator was great, kratos was ok. But Freddy and Jason sucked. Enough to never want guests againb-rad007 Wrote:

Why do people still think "fitting in" matters anymore.
None of the guests fit in in the first place, so why the hell not get Ash?

I don't get the fitting in thing either, the MK universe is set up to where pretty much anything can fit in.
As for why people want Ash, it could be that he is a classic character from a cheesy b movie series with over the top blood and violence? He is used to fighting deadites and not humans but... MK isn't limited to just humans as most people here know, hell I don't think he would be against fighting revenants either.
The "plot" could be easy, Ash messes around with that dumbass book again and it sucks him into the MK universe (probably the Netherrealm) and bam, you have a reason for him to be there.

Because he's Bruce fuck mothering Campbell and he's got a fucking chainsaw for a hand.
NRS needs to stop fucking around and just make an officially licensed version of Terrordrome as a stand alone game rather than all this guest bullshit.

You're missing out. Go watch Evil Dead 1 & 2, and Army of Darkness (the one with the "good" ending, the other one is crap)
They are VERY funny and entertaining movies ( ED 2 and AoD anyways)

Terrible fit for DLC IMO. Full on characters like Freddy, Beetlejuice, Jason, Alien, etc work. But characters with a likeness based on real life actors...sorry, no thanks.

IMO Evil Dead 1, 2 and Fede's 2013 take on the series are the best. Army Of Darkness was horse shit IMO lol even Within The Woods is more watchable than that movie ;)

I love the Evil Dead franchise. Evil Dead 2 is my favorite movie of all time. That being said I don't know how a gun toting one liner popping chainsaw wielding demon slaying badass doesn't fit MK. The stand out features of the franchise parallel MK almost to a tee. Over the top gore. Cheesy B movie writing. Slapstick comedy. Fast paced action. Horrifying imagery.
Plus his gameplay has the potential to be amazing. A chainsaw hand variation. Boomstick blasts. Evil Ash transformations. Maybe even a necronomicon spell casting here or there. Imagine a fatality where the Evil in the woods charges at the opponent in first person and pushes him through the woods ripping him apart.
In Army of Darkness he literally has a fight against a deadite in a pit with spike closing in. And about him not killing humans, Lui Kang/Johnny Cage doesn't kill humans either. MK has always had a lose canon outside of biographies. Ash doesn't need to try to kill the human characters to be there.

Freddy and Beetlejuice dont have a likeness based on other actors?
Sure buddy
I guess for the same reasons they wanted Freddy/Jason/Predator. They think it's cute, cool, or fun.
I think it's pointless honestly. As for the "they don't fit" argument I think it's totally valid. Seriously, someone from another series, not at all involved in the lore or the series literally serves no purpose, and they will never fit. That's what a "guest" is, someone brought somewhere, but they don't "live" there.
It's like saying lets have Scorpion in an Evil Dead remake. Scorpion travels through some portal and winds up fighting alongside Ash. Really? Does it really make sense?

You think MK makes any sense to begin with? I've said it many times but there is no logic in MK games. In fact, MK is one of the most inconsistent games around. Making sense is not something MK does.
Not saying it's an excuse, but saying guests don't make sense is ridiculous when the whole damn series is nothing but insane.

No I don't think MK makes sense, its a fictional video game. Harry Potter doesn't make sense, but that doesn't mean that a Dumbledore/Gandalf face off out of nowhere makes sense either.
A mixup of characters, because of some odd happening that brings their universes together makes sense for Street Fighter X Tekken, MK v DC, Marvel v. Capcom, Super Smash Bros, etc.
Just because there is no logic in a fictional setting (video game), doesn't mean common sense (or logic) can't be applied to the actual video game itself.

People DON'T want Ash - he's just been hinted at an thrown around as a possibility more often than not since the launch of MKX. You don't realize it but when you see "ASH SHOULD BE IN" regurgitated countless times on the message boards, even if there's 30 postings and 5 different topics about it, it's probably just the same 3 people flailing around like autistic 9 year olds at recess.
