I wanted The Bank as MK9 DLC so badly.

There a lot more stages than just these that haven't appeared outside of their respective games. I would love to see some of these stages to return, but NRS seems to only really want to bring back stages from MK1-2, and not so much from MK3-MK:D. Oh, and the Waterfront sort of did appear in MK9, it was kind of mixed with the Street. The Balcony/Noob's Dorfen are pretty much the same stage as well lol.

The bank, especially the original MK3 version with the dragon logo on the floor, is a serious candidate for the "worst arena ever in any video game ever made, ever and ever".
I don't why, but I laugh every time I think someone entered that bank asking for a loan during Shao Kahn's invasion.

These aren't as memorable or iconic, that's probably why. I always loved the waterfront tho.

Well, it's there because it's sort of relevant to the story. It's supposed to be there because Shao Kahn stole everyone's souls during the invasion, and that's why the bank is so desolate. Same thing with the Street, Subway, and all of the other public places.

I actually like most of the new stages, especially the ones with a minimal amount of background animations. I applaud NRS for doing something new in that regard, rather than relying on nostalgia, like with the new pit stage. The music on the other hand, I wish had some of that old energy that got you pumped for a fight, it's mostly forgetable in MKX.

We got the Sky Temple, which is probably my favorite arena in MKX lol.

One 3D arena off the top of my head that can translate well in a 2D environment is House of Pekara from MKDA.

I've wondered if D'Vorah has any connection to the Beetle Lair.

House of Pekara was a fan favorite. IIRC it had something to do with Kenshi's ancestors.

Some of my favs are the Slaughterhouse, Nethership, Hell's Foundry, Dark Prison, Red Dragon Temple/Glass Machine, the Sawmill, the Mine with the dragon head crusher. 3d era has a lot of awesome stages, Golden Desert, Sarna Ruins, Dragon King's Tomb, Lung Hai temple, the cliffside arena with the falling statue deathtrap.
