It's a nice thought but Edenia needs to be restored first.

I'd rather see what he can do in the Netherrealm more than what he can do in Edenia. That is if Edenia is even going to come back in this timeline.

I'd like to see the next mk end with that, after he and Kitana get restored to life. But then there's not much of a mantle to pass on setting as how there's no more mortal kombat. Maybe a new tournament can be introduced but with different stakes

If everyone gets restored in Xi I could see Liu Kang being the only one not going back to Raiden's side. Dark Empress Kitana might want to attack Outworld to get Edenia back and when she'd be restored Liu Kang would follow her there. I think it's entirely possible.

That being said, we need to see Kang and Kitana's fiery rampage throughout the realms first.
