Actually, I've heard Deadly Alliance described as selling over two million while Deception and Armageddon each only sold somewhere over one million. Those numbers could be wrong though, I'm just going by hearsay.

I wonder what the home ports of mk2 sold? I still own my Sega 32X copy of mk2. I love that little guy.

This is a great question and i think i can ́t answer that for my country. You must think that Mortal Kombat 2 was taken from all the shops after two weeks and after that was it a crime to sell it because it was the most violent game in history at this time. Many people knows the justice here in Germany and this is the reason why i can ́t get UMK3 from XBOX live aracade than it ́s banned here. But from my sight in the marketing here i can say that Mortal Kombat Trilogy and and Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance are good selling games here. You can get both in a platinum version and it means that game was already sold about 500.000 times. You have a other law in your country and i think you can get more games and movies full uncut and uncensored at any shop you like. I can get those things over the web as import games and movies from other counties like UK USA or Austria...

never understood why censorship in germany and austria is so full of hypocrisy,sorry for all gamers hat belongs there...luvckly in italy e never had great problems except for manhunt 2,which was published and still sold even though illegal action.

however even though i haven't the source i can say that MK deadly Alliance is the stronget selling game of the saga:
MK DA 2,2 million copies sold
MK trilogy 2 million copies sold
MK shaolin Monks 1,7 copies sold
mk deception 1,6 copies
all the rest is pretty unknown for me..

I had a hard time finding this information myself, most sites have the amount of units moved, but not the net worth. i don't know about Deception, but It would almost be safe to say Trilogy outsold everything in MK's prime golden years.
