wait a sec...i thought scorpion did defeat quan chi, but quan chi ran away

Sub-Zero's fights against the cyborgs by the time of MK 3 should be mentioned. I think he "turned" Smoke, defeated Cyrax and reprogrammed him.

While they were trapped in the Netherealm between MK4 and MK:DA, Scorpion was beating on Quan Chi because Chi was losing his power & Scorpion was getting continuously stronger.
Once they escaped the Netherealm, Scorpion managed to catch up to Quan Chi outside Shang Tsung's home. During the fight, Quan Chi's power returned, so he was able to beat Scorpion and knock him into Tsung's Acid Bath.
Oh yeah, Taven also defeated Reptile, Mileena, Kabal, Kia, Jataaka, Sareena, and Frost. He also fought Sub-Zero to a draw.

Sub-Zero never encountered Smoke in MK3 after his transformation, but you are right, Sub-Zero and Cyrax fought and Sub-Zero won and reprogrammed him to go after Shao Kahn instead.
I'm a bit skeptical about some of the MKDA Konquest fights, particularly with Mavado fighting Sonya, Jax and Kenshi and defeating them all. It probably is true, but it just seems too far-fetched.

Although Smoke does definitely end up de-activated in Shao Kahn's dungeon, they never confirmed what did or did not happen in his ending. He could've allied with Sub-Zero, helped fight Kahn's forces, and got taken prisoner during the battle.

Personally, that's how I see it happening...but in either case, it's not definite canon.



Deception confirms Kenshi was beaten by Mavado and I see no reason to question his defeating Sonya and Jax...except for wondering why they weren't killed.

Apparently, Mavado was on a roll during MK:DA.
