Earthrealms protector

I have been reading a lot of threads lately, of which have been dated to November, 2006 or more recent, and a lot of them have been referring to Fujn as Earth's only magical protector.

Why is this??

Is something up with Raiden now that's caused him to lose his position as Earth's protector?

I mean, I know that he has become corrupt, but I haven't heard anything about this causing him to be stripped of his rank.

So who is Earth's protector guys??

If you mean Earthrealm's protector god, it's Fujin. After Shinnok was defeated at the end of MK4, the Elder Gods elevated Raiden to Elder God status and Fujin was chosen to take Raiden's old position as Earthrealm's protector.

But I thought Raiden came back to be Earthrealms protector.

Did he come back to help them or did he come back and kick Fujin out??

When the Elder Gods refused to do something about the Deadly Alliance after they killed Liu Kang, Raiden relinquished his Elder God status to gather the heroes and go to Outworld to fight Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. While they were in Outworld, Fujin stayed in Earthrealm to continue his duty as Earthrealm's protector god.

So Raiden protects Earthrealm as he cares for the people who inhabit it, but he is not the OFFICIAL protector, correct?

I guess you could say that. Raiden chose Fujin to take his place.
