Ermac: Which is it?

This thread is born out of shear curiosity. I've heard both opinions, and after reading through some of the threads I feel that you all are the best group I could consider asking.

Ermac, is he red or orange?

To me he seems like a blood orange (like the fruit) in quite a few shots of seen of him. I've heard people argue that he's actually a darker orange instead of red. So what is the consensus of this group?

Feel free to go back to the original sprite if you wish, or use the more recent games for your decision. It doesn't matter to me

You do realize that blood oranges are called blood oranges because they're stained red while retaining a lot of orange as well, right? Ermac is a solid red colour in every picture I've seen. There's no way he can even be orange because the original motion-capture suits used for the ninjas were red, so unless they added a little bit of orange-y colour to make the red look better, and even then, he's basically a red ninja.

I think MKMinx is asking about in his actual appearances, not his rumored ones. Of course he would've been red in MK1.

However, in UMK3 and beyond he does look a little bit orange to me. Like a nice orangish-red.

In Deception he is definetly red-orange in his primary.

Yes Kinetic, thats exactly what I'm asking. I've seen a few places where people feel he's more of an orange ninja (one example is on DeviantArt via a comment).

If you think about it, yes I know the original ninja motion capture suit was red, which they changed for each of the other ninjas, so who's to say they didn't adjust it for Ermac as well? Just a thought...

I've always colored him a reddish-orange because that's how he looks to me in both UMK3 and Deception.

As long as said ninja had a plausible story and a unique and interesting move set I wouldn't complain...
