So i was lookin at the games and you have shaolin monks but nothing for MK mythologies: Sub Zero or MK: Special Forces which where both action adventures just like shaolin monks. They where both a little ahead of their time.A little to far I guess from the reviews i've read i am guessing the graphics couldn't be handled yet at that time for a MK action game because i enjoyed SM.Anyways i was just wondering why we didn't have anything for them if you knew about em or if you didn't to shed some light on them.

Because MK Spec. Forces was a technologically inferior game in every sense, badly designed and rushed.

Mythologies did not really stir anything and was nothing new.

At the time Mythologies was a great game imo. It explained why MK 4 took place and shed light on new characters. So saying not stiring anything is alil wrong.
The gameplay was fun (although frustrating) and the levels were creative and fun

There's reasons:

Mythologies, even though in my opinion I liked the game, it was still not the greatest thing that the MK team produced. There were a lot of issues that occured during this game, it was too challenging and the combat system could have been better. Not to mention, I thought it was so stupid that if you did not have enough experience points when you reach Quan Chi's fortress that you autmoatically lose the game.

Special Forces was just a horrible game to begin with. No one liked it as far as what I've read in multiple threads back in the few pages of this fourm.

Not to metion, both of these games did not have the certain hype as what Shaolin Monks did before its release.

So that's what I think why there's nothing about these two games on this site.

As I said I think they where a both a little ahead of their time. The way they shoulda been made probably woulda done them good had they not been made untill we got all the technological advanced we have come to now.I bet if they redid them and re-released them they would both do excellent. But like i said the gaming world in my opinion wasn't ready for these games as far as graphics and controlls. As for not having enough exp yea that's fucking retarded.

At the time, I seem to remember reviewers saying MKM:SZ was one of the worst games ever made and SF was alright but nothing special.

Many moons have passed since then.

Actually, you have it backwards. Special Forces is the one that got record low scores from reviewers and Mythologies is the mediocre one.

Mythologies is a can't miss if you follow MK for the storyline, though. It shows how events that are crucial to the plots of MK4 and every game after happened.

IMO...none of these games were ahead of their time.

They both played like...well...old NES and Genesis games.

MK:SF was just an abortion of a game...and SZM was pretty much a side scroller...like that of Streets of Rage, Shinobi, and all the other old school games.

They were mostly certainly not ahead of their time. Now, if Shaolin Monks was made during the time these adventure games came out, then that could be considered "ahead of their time." But as far as Mythologies and SF, they were nowhere near being "ahead" at all.
