What was the inspiration for Sonya Blade's leather dress and the hairstyle that she wears in the 1995 movie? Any sketches on it?

Sounds crazy but it could've been a magical strength sapping gown (to do with the small transparent jewels in the gown), so she couldn't use her Kiss of Death or Energy Rings. The 1995 movie was a more realistic approach though, whereas you can do more with the games fantasy-wise in some different areas.
