Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu

I just noticed that the Los Angeles street gangs, the Bloods and the Crips, are very similar to the Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu.

For instance

1. Both are opposing clans/gangs
2. Both wear colors to represent their gang/clan
3. Both have robbed, killed, and fought to complete tasks.


cool huh?

maybe thats where john tobias got his idea.

I find that very doubtful. He got the idea of the Lin Kuei from trying to look into Chinese mythology. When it comes to the Shirai Ryu, he either somehow learned of some of the names of the extinct Ninjutsu traditions or he took the name Shirai Ryu from a school of Shurikenjutsu and used it for the name of the clan in his story.

Who would actually think that an artist/game designer would base on a group of retarded disprovied of a life, ape-like creatures to create a fucking Ninja/stealth warrior clan?

And no, i don't find it cool.
