This is an ongoing thread where I will post a Mortal Kombat game for your own personal review of that game. I will only be doing the fighting games; so there won't be any special forces or shoalin monks. So please leave a number score, and give a review of the game.
Up first is the original Mortal Kombat.
I only played this game a few times when I was a kid, and I can't remember that much. So I had to play it again on a rom. So feel free to disagree with me if I write something that was a bug with the snes rom rather than the original version.
The game is far from perfect, and it seems a little incomplete. There is nothing you can do if somebody is low blocking, however the computer can somehow throw you with ease if you down block. The controls also feel a little unresponive in comparison to MK2. Some times I just couldn't pull off a projectile. Some of the other problems include the game rewards the more defensive player rather than the offensive one which can get annoying. The high punch can also be useless when your to close. Your character just does this little punch that does barely any damage. This makes the high punch almost worthless. The roster is also a little small for a fighting game even for the 90s.
Enough with the bad. The good things are that it is the start of a great series. The story is classic, but it has enough originality to make it good. The characters are cool, and each one is very different than the other story wise. The graphics are pretty good for the 90s, but the sound sucks. Maybe that's just the rom though. Goro looks really good for the time. The biggest thing about this game was the blood, and fatalities. That's what made the game such a hit. It wasn't as good as Street Fighter, however it had lots of gore, and it was playable. A lot of the 2D fighters that came out around the same time where either carbon copies of Street Fighter, or completely unplayable.
Verdict: It isn't the best fighter, but it did do a lot of cool things. Like gore, and stage interaction. And it turned out to be a good start for the series. However, there are still a lot of problems, and part of that is I played the more refined sequels which means I can't give it the highest score, but there is still some fun here.
Score: 7.5
So tell me what you think of Mortal Kombat 1.

Alright it seems like no one really played MK1 so now let's talk about
MK2.
MK2: This is one of my favoritie games from the series. They took MK1, and then totally expanded on it. There where more characters, more levels, more finishing moves, and more blood. They also fixed a lot of the problems from the first game. Like how a down block doesn't block everything. The controls also felt more responsive, and it the gameplay was faster. It was also nice to see the roundhouse knocked your opponent back. The story is also better as it takes the battle to earth, and outworld. The graphics are more clear, but some could argue there not better. They don't really look like real people anymore instead it was more of a animated style. However, the backgrounds improved a lot by adding more details, and making them more clear. I think this is one of the best MK rosters. Every character is cool, and every character fits. I did miss Sonya though.
However, there are a few minor problems. The gameplay is still really defensive. This isn't that big of a deal, but fighting games should favor a mix of play styles, and in this case the offensive player gets screwed. Also babalities where dumb. Why not give us a cool finisher instead? I really can't think of anything else to that was bad, and most complaints are really splitting hairs.
Verdict: I love this game. It took MK, and expanded it in all of the right directions.
Score:9.5

Alright now onto Mortal Kombat 3, UMK3, and Trilogies.
MK3: The graphics are better than the last two. The levels, and characters are booth smoother and more detailed. I really like the stroy, of this Mk, because it seems really intense that Earth is just being taking over by Shao Khan. The story also makes the levels, and setting really awsome. I liked how there is barren cities with that dark atmosphere, and that church just seems epic. This game also has my favorite musical score. The techno music mixed with low eerie noises really made it feel dark and apocalyptic. The new combat added some nice changes. The run button made it so aggressive players were on an even playing field. The dial a combo was cool, but there are some problems.(I'll get to that later). I loved a lot of the fatalities, and the animalities where really cool not to mention ground breaking technology. One of the coolest little touches was uppercutting someone to the next floor of the level. The two on two combat is fun, and I don't know why they never brought it back.
However, there are some problems. Some of the combos can be cheap. There are times when there is nothing you can do to get out, then you lose so much health. Even though the fatalities are really good some of them are a little too silly. Like Jax turning into a giant. I consider this too be the most serious MK game so what's with the silly fatalities? The biggest problem is the roster. This is one of my least favorite rosters. There are no ninjas except for Sub-Zero with a bad new look. The Cyber ninjas are cool, but I didn't want them to replace the regular ninjas. There is no Raiden, and no Scorpion. Some of the desings aren't that great either. Like Jax's purple pants, and Kano's whatever the hell he's wearing. Motaro is just alright as a sub-boss I liked Goro and Kintaro better.
Verdict: They made a lot of good decisions, but then they kind of lost the spirit of MK by making a dissapointing roster and some vast changes. This wouldn't be a big deal except that for an old 2D game the roster is important, and so is keeping old characters.
Score: 8.5
UMK3: Pretty much the same game a MK3, but it was pretty much fan service. They fixed the problem with the roster by adding in the ninjas, and adding in Ermac and Rain. This is what MK3 should have been. However, some of the animalities aren't as good as others, because the new characters where rushed in.
Verdict: They fixed the major problem which made this game really good in my eyes. There still are some minor issues witht this game so I'm going to split hairs and give it a 9.3. Normally I go by increments of 5, but this is an exception.
Score: 9.3
MK Trilogies: Any fan of the 2D MKs probably had fond memories of this game on a 3D console. It had every charater which is pretty sweet. I never played it that much so I can't get too detailed. I know they added in the aggressor system, but it never really worked for me, and I still don't fully understand it.
Verdict. Either way you look at it they didn't really add that much new stuff, and it is really similar to UMK3.
Score. 9.3.

Next up is Mortal Kombat 4.
Mortal Kombat 4: I didn't play it that much, and I'm not the biggest fan of it, but either way it did do some good things. The biggest improvement it did for the series was put the game in 3D. The graphics looked nice for the time, and it added different camera angles to fatalities. The roster was pretty good. Fujin, and Quan Chi were nice additions to the series. This game also added weapon combat, which was kind of cool. I never really used it that much though. Your character could also pick up items and throw them. Which was cool, but it didn't add much to the game, and it never came back. I didn't really like the sidestep button. It just seemed like a rushed 3D mechanic that didn't really work out to welll. The combo system and run button also made a return which I liked. The best part of this game was probably the video endings. Some of them sucked, but either way it was a big improvement for fighting games. As far as the story goes there is some b.s. with Shinook trying to take Earthrealm. I don't know it's not very memorable, and that's not a good thing.
Verdict: It put MK into 3D, and thats about it. The new things they added didn't follow through to the next games, and the roster was good, but trilogies had every character so they down graded. The story isn't that geat, and the combat is pretty much the same as MK3. So overall it isn't the best MK, but it is still good.
Score: 8

Here are my ratings for all games:
MK1: 8/10 (This game was very controversial and got the series noticed rather quickly)
MK2: 9.5/10 or 10/10 (This installment was a good challenge and it added a couple of new characters in the mix)
MK3: 7.25/10 (This game was the worst selling MK game that was on the arcades, but was also pretty fun.)
UMK3: 7.5 (This game was MK3 with minor changes, so nothing really changes the rating too much)
MKT: 7.75 (Trilogy was UMK3 with even more characters and some new features)
MK4: 8 (MK4 was the first 3D MK game. It also had FMV endings and some more characters)
MKG: 8.25 (MKG is basically MK4 with new characters so it changes the rating just a little bit)
MKDA: 8.5 (This game put Mortal Kombat back in the spotlight and also added some new characters and features)
MKD: 9 (Deception had great features like Chess Kombat and Puzzle Kombat. Konquest mode was completely re-vamped and was the occasional get-away from the classic fighting mode)
MKA: 8.75 (The build up for this game was incredible where all warriors come together for one final battle)
MKvsDC: 7.5 (MK vs DC was a very good game. The new engine gave a new level of realism to the series. The one thing holding this game down was that there wasn't any gore that we had in previous MK games. I know that MK had no control over this, but it would be much better with the extreme violence we all know and love)
Side games:
MKMSZ: 6.75 (Mythologies: Sub Zero was kind of fun. However, I didn't find anything else very interesting. After beating Scorpion, I stopped playing. This was their first action-adventure game, so they have an excuse on why this game wasn't as good as it should have been)
MKSF: 3 (I am honestly going to say I have never played this game. But from reviews and gameplay videos, I have seen that this game is terrible. It could've been better if the MK team wasn't rushed and if Tobias didn't leave the company while it was being created)
MKSM: 8.5 (The MK team hit the jackpot with this adventure game. Shaolin Monks had a real storyline that was based on past MK games. It was very fun to play and the co-op mode was fun as well)
These are just my opinions. Some people will agree and some people won't but that's just the way it is.

Now onto Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance.
MKDA: I loved this game. This was the first MK that I actually played a lot, and got good at. Before this I was too young to fully understand how to play the MK games so there is a lot of nostalgic baggage that goes with this game for me personally. Anyways onto the review.
First lest me start by saying this is the true 3D Mortal Kombat. MK4 kind of cheated into 3D, but MKDA was fully 3D this time. Not only that but this game brought MK out of the downward slope of crap, and it is considered the MK resurgence. The story for the game was awsome. It started with Shao Khan and Lui Kang's death, and it really made me feel that Earth was in danger, and that the Deadly Alliance must be stopped. I see it as possibly the best MK storyline however, I don't really like the endings that much. This game also has one of my favorite rosters. They brought back a lot of the classics, and fan favorits, while also adding some new cool characters like Bo and Kenshi. The graphics were good for the time considering that it was almost a launch title. The levels were pretty good, and I liked a lot of the background details like the acid statues and the drummers. The new combat system is pretty fun. The dial a combo is back, and the sidestepping and power ups were unique. The mini games like sight and might were fun as well. The best thing about the game was diffinately the content. The krypt added so much replayability, and it made arcade mode have a purpose because you could gain money.
The minor problems with the game include Moloch. He's kind of plain, and a little too cheap at times. The other minor issue was some of the content. I don't care about so much concept art and dev. photos. Just give us characters and levels. The combat has some big problems as well. If you get stuck in someones combo there is no way out. No breakers, and few counters. The other problem is turtle players. There is no throw button to stop them from blocking. I wonder how this got past the MK team? The biggest issue was some of the new characters. Some are the worst in the series. Hsu Hao and Dhramin are just awful.
Verdict: The game is really fun, and I loved all of the bonus content and the story. However, the combat needed some tweaking to say the least. I would have given it a higher score back in 2002, but some things just really didn't age well.
Score: 9

About Me
0
mk1: 6.5 or maybe a 7
the first game wasnt that great. if it wasnt for the blood and guts getting all the attention that it did, mk wouldnt be here today.
mk2: 8
took what was good about the first game and doubled it. better graphics, sound, music, characters, gameplay was alot faster and tighter.
mk3: 6
improved on the graphics, added the run button and dial combos but everything else when to shit. animalities? wtf??? they added too much cartoony crap and humor.
umk3: 7
added more characters and tightened up the gameplay a lil bit. more vs screen codes, etc. this one put out a different vibe then the original mk3.
mkt: 8
the best of the "mk3 series". i prefer the psx or saturn version over the rest. the gameplay is just as broke as umk3, but this one had major sound and graphic upgrades not to mention the ability to play as all the characters. theres also an option to turn combos off to give it that mk1/mk2 feel, which i like.
mkmsz: 6
not a great game, but it didnt suck either. i actually enjoyed it. the story and seeing all these "new" characters kept me intertained until the very end. and mkm shinnok ownz all.
mk4: 7.5
first attempt at 3d, even tho it was still basically 2d gameplay for the most part. it was simple, but the fast paced gameplay made it fun to play. and finally got some good fatalities.
mkg: 3
i hated it. most say "oh its just like mk4 but more chars" bull fucking shit. this game is a glitch of a disaster. only thing good about mkg was the graphics and i liked the weapon select screen. the finishers for the new chars were re-hased versions of other characters finishers. and most were poorly done. go look at barakas. just lame. some of the new arenas felt smaller then the others. characters moved faster then the camera could handle. countless fatality glitches that happen for no apparent reason. not to mention the random screams and sound effects that happen during loading screens.
mksf: 1
oh boy. this game started out looking great. could play as jax or sonya...then the game gets released...wtf happened?? not only is it one of the worst mk games, but its one of the worst "adventure/platform" games ever.
mkda: 9
this is my fav mk ever. after a long absence mk returned and did a good job at it. good mix of old and new chars, new fighting system...it was just soooo fun to play. and prolly the least broke of all mk fighting games. only downside really was the finishers. the ones in mk4 were better...quan chi neck stretch...eeewww...
mkd: 5
now, this game should have been everything mkda was supposed to be. everything about it was supposed to be awesome and looked great on paper, then when you actually play it.....one of the glitchiest fighting engines EVER. they had a great start with da, and somehow they fucked it all up. adding bullshit recovery times to basic attacks, and the useless "fight state indicators" the puzzle and chess were fun. everything about this game should have been awesome and most of it is, but what it comes down to is the FIGHTING, and they really messed up with this one.
mksm: 8.5
this game was fun and easily one of my fav mk games. thers alot that needs improved on but im really looking forward to another installment of games like this one.
mka: 7.5
below mkda, but above mkd. this is kind of the "mk4" of the last gen mk games. except the gameplay is far more broken. it can be a fun game to play, as long as you arent playing douchebag rank whores online. the create a fighter was a cool addition but needs some work done to it. motor kombat seemed like a total waste to me. konquest was alright but i think the engine and finishers should have got more attention then what they did.
other games:
mkte: 2
was okay at best. had some neat features.
mku: 5 im not too big on the handheld games but this is the best mk one you can get.
mkadvanced: -1000
if you play this game, then youll agree. or rate it far worse then i did. this game should have been aborted.
mkdc: fuck this game and fuck whoever thought of this bullshit.
my favs:
mk2, mkt, mkda, mk:sm
most hated:
mkgold, mksf, mkadvanced, mkdc.
my perfect mk game:
everything mk deception had, but with the gameplay of mkda. with the team/practice/etc modes from mk4
the first game wasnt that great. if it wasnt for the blood and guts getting all the attention that it did, mk wouldnt be here today.
mk2: 8

this is my fav mk ever. after a long absence mk returned and did a good job at it. good mix of old and new chars, new fighting system...it was just soooo fun to play. and prolly the least broke of all mk fighting games. only downside really was the finishers. the ones in mk4 were better...quan chi neck stretch...eeewww...

now, this game should have been everything mkda was supposed to be. everything about it was supposed to be awesome and looked great on paper, then when you actually play it.....one of the glitchiest fighting engines EVER. they had a great start with da, and somehow they fucked it all up. adding bullshit recovery times to basic attacks, and the useless "fight state indicators" the puzzle and chess were fun. everything about this game should have been awesome and most of it is, but what it comes down to is the FIGHTING, and they really messed up with this one.

below mkda, but above mkd. this is kind of the "mk4" of the last gen mk games. except the gameplay is far more broken. it can be a fun game to play, as long as you arent playing douchebag rank whores online. the create a fighter was a cool addition but needs some work done to it. motor kombat seemed like a total waste to me. konquest was alright but i think the engine and finishers should have got more attention then what they did.

everything mk deception had, but with the gameplay of mkda. with the team/practice/etc modes from mk4
Next up is Mortal Kombat Deception
MKD: Like usual I will start with the good, and there was a lot of good things to the game. There where a lot of modes to play if you got bored with one. Chess Kombat worked great, and it was a good alternative to the arcade ladder if you got tired of it. I thought puzzle combat was gimicky, but it was a nice detour from fighting. The online fighting was really good for the time, and I think this is the first online fighter. The two best things in this game to me where the kombat, and Konquest. The kombat fixed all of the problems with the last game. They added a throw button, and this time you could break combos. The level drops where also fun and remeniscent of MK3. Konquest was great also, because it was the first time there was a concrete story mode. Not only that but, you could explore the realms and find keys and money. This mode added some serious replay value.
However, there where a lot of bad things with this game. I expected the graphics to look a little better. They still didn't get rid of that plastic shine. The death traps where cool, but there should have been an option to turn them off. My biggest problem with this game was everything that was good in MKDA wasn't good in MKD. The story was way worst, and the roster was way worst. I hate the story. I don't care about this Shujinko guys journey. I want to see the MK characters I know and care about not this new guy. This game had the worst roster out of all the MK games. Barely anyone from MKDA returned, and all of the new characters sucked. I would list them but almost every single new character from MKD sucked big time.
Verdict: It expanded greatly on MKDA's gameplay, but man just thinking of the story and roster just pisses me off. So incense it is my rating, I am going to split hairs.
Score: 8.9

I didn't want to have review the platformers, but I'm going to follow the band wagon.
MKSubzero: It was a little hard, and I got bored with it when I was a kid. 6.
MKSpecial Forces:Never played it, but it still deserves 1.
MKShaolin Monks:It got really repetive, and there was confusion with the levels for me. But a lot of people liked it so I give it a 7.

took what was good about the first game and doubled it. better graphics, sound, music, characters, gameplay was alot faster and tighter.
mk3: 6
improved on the graphics, added the run button and dial combos but everything else when to shit. animalities? wtf??? they added too much cartoony crap and humor.

added more characters and tightened up the gameplay a lil bit. more vs screen codes, etc. this one put out a different vibe then the original mk3.

the best of the "mk3 series". i prefer the psx or saturn version over the rest. the gameplay is just as broke as umk3, but this one had major sound and graphic upgrades not to mention the ability to play as all the characters. theres also an option to turn combos off to give it that mk1/mk2 feel, which i like.

On the subject of MKD.
I'm kind of surprised you thought MKD wasn't that good. Many consider it the best of the last generation. I still consider MKDA to be slightly better, but out of all of the 3D games MKD's combat seems to be the most balanced. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but I thought that was a little odd.

thats bc you know nothing of balanced gameplay. its one of the most broken engines ever created. by default player 2 is at a disadvantage bc of their lame programming. infinities, otgs, 100%+ combos out the ass, free throws...its just insane. go to the 2002-2006 board and read the mkd gameplay threads then come back and tell me its the most balanced.

below mkda, but above mkd. this is kind of the "mk4" of the last gen mk games. except the gameplay is far more broken. it can be a fun game to play, as long as you arent playing douchebag rank whores online. the create a fighter was a cool addition but needs some work done to it. motor kombat seemed like a total waste to me. konquest was alright but i think the engine and finishers should have got more attention then what they did.

This is one of the rare occasions where I'll admit it. I got pwned on the forums. I looked up a lot of the infinites and the free throws, and it does seem pretty broken. However, I will say I never looked this stuff up when I was playing MKD so I had know idea. Also some of those infinites are only effective if the player is an idiot. You ever heard of a breaker? I have no idea how hard or easy they are to do, but it seems to be a problem.
I will say though the new gameplay changes they added did make sense. If you get stuck in a big combo or infinite in MKDA there is nothing you can do. However, in MKD the breaker works. Also in MKDA the computer turtles a lot. You just have to wait to side step them or plan something else out to attack. The throw adds another dimension of gameplay to it, and it is easier to stop the turtles.
As for you saying I know nothing of balanced is very wrong. I know a lot about balance in a fighting game it's just that I didn't know about it in MKD. I played MKD back when I was in highschool, and I didn't care about knowing all of the tricks, and I never played online to encounter these problems. Not to metion most fans of the 3D MK games generally like this one the best. So I figured that it was fine, but you proved me wrong.
Now onto the infamous Mortal kombat Armageddon
MKA: Hands down the best roster in the whole series. Every single fighter is here. The other neat feature was the create a fighter. This mode was pretty cool, because you could buy more items to create characters. This added a lot of replay value. This game also added air-combat which was a little gimicky, but it was pretty fun. Because there where so many fighters they had to limit each character to one fighting style and one weapon style. I actually liked this, because having so many fighting styles got confusing. These are really the only things I like.
Konquest mode was a total bust. They used that Shoalin Monks gameplay this time, and I didn't like Shoalin monks that much so I thought that was dumb. The main character, and story suffered the same problem as MKD. There was a bland character with a lame story. The new mini game Motor Kombat sucked. It was a poor Mario Cart rip off, and it was just unfun. The biggest problem was the kombat. There where a lot of similarites between characters, and with the created characters people would give them cheap moves. It was also impossible to have a combo with the new parrys. They also didn't add anything to the gameplay it still felt too linear. Sure they added in the air combat, but that didn't really change it that much. The create a fatality was also lame. It was just a cheap way to get out of animating 65 different fatalities.
Verdict:Even though it had every character there where still a lot of problems. The overall impression came off a little lazy, but it did have replayability and there was still some fun here.
Score:7.5

yes ive heard of a breaker. you realize that theres a lot of infinites and such that you cant break out of? and even with the breakers, you only get 3, then what? is some cases the breakers even glitch up allowing you to do things you normally couldnt.

That drove me crazy. It took me forever to buy everything from the store. Really tiresome. Once I finally bought all the junk I wanted to create the right look, then I found out I had to go buy individual moves. What?! And then I found out, that even with moves assigned, I wasn't allowed to do combos? WTF?!?! I had to buy combos too?! I can't just string together combos from the moves I already have? Ugh. I like creating my own character, but damn if it wasn't a pain in the ass.

I liked that, because this made arcade reward you for your work.
It's now time for the latest MK game MKvsDC.
MKvsDC: I liked this game a lot, because it took two of my favorite things MK and DC superheroes. It was good to see that this game got rid of a lot of the gimicks of the last games like puzzle kombat and Motor Kombat . It was more back to basics. I really liked the roster for the MK and the DC side. I liked the story mode, because it was a coherent story with cutscenes so the audience knows exactly what happens. In other MK games the viewer isn't sure what all happened, and they don't know every character's role in the story. It also let you play as characters that were actually loved by fans like Scorpion and Sub-zero as apposed to Shujinko and Taven. The arcade mode is back as usual, but one thing I liked was the final boss Dark Khan. All of your character's moves worked on him, but he still was a little challenging. My favorite part of this game was the kombat. It was such a breath of fresh air after MKA's linear, broken ass. This time the combat was a little more 2D style. Gone wit the side step, and in with the uppercut. The combat flowed so well. It was fun to just input special moves into your combo. There still is a dialed feeling to it, but it gives the player a wide range of options to construct their own as opposed to what the moveset says to do. The pro moves where also a realy cool feature. It added another layer of depth to the gameplay. The free fall combat was pretty fun, because it made the stage change interactive. Test your might was fun, and it just looked awsome.
This game did suffer some problems. After you beat the story mode there wasn't anything else to do except online and arcade. No costumes, no new levels, and only two secret characters. The combat was good, but there are a lot of problems. There are infintes which are an issue however, I have beaten players who use them so there not the end all be all. Also rage mode doesn't really work that well. If you get a good player they can usually avoid getting hit. I also had a problem with so many characters with teleports. Close combat was fun at first, but it kind of slows down the flow of kombat, and it's not very deep. The biggest problem with the fans is the gore or lack there of. The fatalities and special moves got toned down, because they where shooting for the T rating. It wasn't so much the gore that made me mad, but the lack of creativity. Superheroes may not kill people but they can do incredible things. Why couldn't Batman hit the opponent with the Batmobile as his brutality? Why couldn't the Green Lantern make a giant gun or something? I like fatalities in MK, but there not my favorite part, because once you've seen them they kind of get old so I'm not as distraught as some fans are about the issue.
Verdict: Some of the best MK combat, and a good blending of polar opposite franchises. However there needed to be more content, and some gameplay tweaks.
Score: 8.5

Yeah, but when you've played through arcade mode with every character 3 times and beaten Konquest a dozen times, it starts to get old. If they were really going to charge for every last stupid little thing, they should have made the items cheaper at least.
I'm surprised they didn't charge for skin color or voice!

MK1: It was revolutionary for its time. The blood; the digitized characters. Even the storyline was awesome! I've dumped too many quarters into this machine to give it a bad rating. I even owned this on Sega Genesis AND SNES....lolol...7 out of 10
MK2: It took MK1 and up'd it up a bunch. More characters, more blood, better stages, and a brilliantly evolving storyline. Hard as nails to beat which made for the most challenging of the MK games. 9 out of 10
MK3 and UMK3: A little too futuristic for my lovin'. Kind of felt out of place. The characters were plentiful, and the stages were many. I liked the advancement in technology and the graphics were nice, BUT I didn't care for the look too much. 5 out of 10
MK4: I played this only once in the arcade, and owned it for PlayStation. Too easy to beat. I'll give kudos for an interesting concept, BUT i personally feel that it didn't work all that well. I didn't care for the cast or the look of the characters. By far, my least favorite of the arcade releases. HOWEVER, after playing Mythologies, I DID enjoy the storyline. 5 out of 10
MK MYTHOLOGIES: A very interesting twist in the MK universe. I thought this game worked rather well. Not "amazing" by any means, BUT it was definetally challenging and the story was pretty sweet. I liked watching the cenematic cuts between levels, and I didn't want to stop playing it. So it was a bit addicting. As being something new and fresh, wether it failed or succeeded, I give this this a 6 out of 10.
SPECIAL FORCES: I played a small portion of this game at a Game Stop and absolutly hated it for existing. PERIOD! 1 out of 10
MK TRILOGY: I played the hell out of this game on PlayStation. Though it was MK3/UMK3-based, I really did enjoy it. It took my "unsatisfation" for MK3 and gave it a little hope. 7 out of 10
MK5-DA: I thought it was an excellent revival for the MK series, and was definetally better than MK4. Not my favorite of the newer titles, but an excellent "re-invention" of the gameplay and whatnot. 7 out of 10.
MK6-D: Taking MK5 and building on that concept; this was a more superior game all together. I loved the feel of it, and is probably my favorite next to MK2. The cast could have been better tho. 8 out of 10
MK7-ARM: Yeah, they packed all the fighters in there, and I liked the "create-a-fighter" feature as simply being something fun to toy around with. BUT I didn't enjoy it as much as MK6. I DID however like the Konquest Mode a lot. 7 out of 10
MKvsDCU: Being a comic book nut, I loved the hell out of this game. It was really "back-to-the-basics" but with far better technology. It didn't feel like an all-out MK game to me, BUT it was simply a really-really fun game to play to hold me over till MK9. I think they did an excellent job with fusing the two universes together. And the soundtrack was amazing! Very cinematic. 7 out of 10
