Hi. I’m Ben Jackson. I have been an MK fan since 2016 when Mortal Kombat XL came out and I was blown away by the characters, world, and stories the series portrayed. Just recently, I looked through the gear and outfit customization set in Mortal Kombat 11 and I noticed that some of the characters like Shao Kahn, Kotal Kahn, Baraka, Cetrion, and Geras, just to name a few, had gear and outfits that have titles which sounded like names for peoples, places, things and events that have not yet appeared in the MK mythos. This same revelation appeared while venturing in Goro’s Treasure Chamber in the Krypt with the discovery of all those artifacts (Queen Sytholin’s Blade, The Death Mask of Al’Sheva, The Talisman of the Kafallah Warlocks, The Crown of King Jerrod, The Medallion of the Z'ankarian Empire, The Osh-Tekk Baton of Victory, Sun Do’s Hearthstone, The Korloven Imperial Scepter, and The Blood of Vaeternus). With my admiration for the Mortal Kombat universe, the revelation of these unknown names and titles, and the little stories that those artifacts in the krypt told, I say there is huge, expansive, world-building potential for Mortal Kombat.

So, I'm making a Simarillion for the Mortal Kombat world. A Simarillion which would cover all the known events of the MK world like the separation of the One-Being, the Unification of Outworld under Onaga, Shinnok's first war against Earthrealm, and Shao Kahn's wars of conquest and tell in a way that has never been done before. This "MK Simarillion" of mine will also cover the history, religion, culture, etc of all the realms and races in MK. The main races and realms that would be focused on the most would be the Zaterrans, Shokan, Naknada, Osh-Tekk, Kytinn, Edenians, and Tarkatans. In-depth will be told the rulers they crowned, the kingdoms they made, the wars they fought, and the gods they worshipped.

The MK Simarillion will also include bits and pieces of the lore and mythos of some of its guest characters (Greek and Norse myth from Kratos, The lore of the Yautja, Xenomorphs, and Engineers from the Alien/Predator franchise, the demonology of Spawn and the Hyborian legends of Conan: the Barbarian) as well as the bits of the lore from the DC comics like the kingdoms of Atlantis and Khandaq, The New Gods of New Genesis and Apokalips, the Amazons of Themyscira, Thanagar, Skartaris, and the Parlament of Trees.

THE biggest focus of all, however, would be the lore and history of the dragons. For the logo of MK to be a dragon, they must have played probably one of the biggest roles in making the MK world. Once I have finished my MK Simarillion, you might never see the MK world the same way again.

If there is anybody who’s interested in helping me create an expansive backstory, history, and world-building for the Mortal Kombat series, please let me know and I will get back to you and we can get down to business?

Thank you very much.

Hello. I know quite a lot of these things. We should do a chat and it would be fun to answer some questions when you have difficulties. Tabmok sent me to this page, otherwise I would not have known of this project.
