I'm not sure I can think of a beat 'em up better suited to being an MMORPG.
It really doesn't take a lot of imagination at all to create a very involving MK experience, even if it means ignoring some of the conventions of the MMO/RPG genres.

Leave the role playing games to Warcraft, Everquest and anything that's not Mortal Kombat.

Mortal Kombat is fine the way it is.

Yes and than you can join a other clan or make your own clan and fight other clans. After winning you can get rewards from the defeated clan like experience, new weapons or cash to buy something. Cool...

it would be better as a one on one PvP style game, but that would be Armageddon without the original characters

and it would still be better than what anyone else could come up with
