*This is a trigger warning. The title should tell you enough*

Has anyone here ever considered what it would be like if you could actually RAPE the opponent to death as a finishing move? I mean, this is a game where you can rip people to pieces in the most gruesome ways. You can take a woman and rip her in half down the middle (ala Noob in MK2011) but you can't **** her??

MK1's finishing moves alone (heart rip, spine rip etc) are worse than rape. I know that sounds terrible. But come on... you know it's true.

I'm not actually advocating they allow this but I'm just curious. What is the difference between the fatalities and rape? Why is society so okay with graphic violence but not sexual assault?

Wasn't going to go here but its not at least a statement saying that "I want rape in Mortal Kombat"

So Yeah.

Rape is generally seen as the most evil thing you can do to a person. Its even seen as taboo in movies. A Clockwork Orange and the original version of Straw Dogs were banned for years in the UK for their rape scenes.

And while the effect of murder is an end to a life, victims of rape have to live with the effects of it. Trust in fellow humans is broken etc.

In terms of why isn't there sexual assault in video games period. We live in a world were the majority of countries hide consensual sex. In the UK you can not watch an erect penis. Let alone the act of sex. Do you really think that sexual assault would make it into a video game any time soon?

Spoiler: Not likely.

The Fatalities in MK1 and onward have deliberately meant to be over the top and cartoonish since day one.
Rape is neither of these things.

I can't believe you would actually think that suffering an imaginary video game finishing move would be worse than surviving a sexual assault. As if women haven't been objected in video games enough over the years. Plus, when was the last time you heard about someone ripping out a spine, tearing a person in half with only their legs, or having an arcade machine dropped on them, in comparison to the millions of people (including men) living with the real-life trauma of having been violated against their will?

Fuck off with this bullshit comparison and this thread. Jesus Christ.
