The sorcerer Shang Tsung had killed me and consumed my soul. I remained trapped within his being, tormented by his evil, along with many other victims of his vampiric soul drain. Through Shang Tsung?s eyes, we witnessed the battle with Raiden, who sacrificed himself to stop Onaga. Raiden's blast destroyed Shang Tsung, and our souls were free to ascend into the heavens. I remained in Outworld, however, to aid my friends in the fight against the Dragon King.

Why someone would desecrate my grave and reanimate my body, I cannot say. Somehow my corpse retains my knowledge of martial arts and has killed many innocents. Though I am not the perpetrator of these slaying, I cannot help but feel responsible for the brutality committed by my corporal form. The battle between mind and body has begun.

Ending
Liu Kang's friends had been freed. Onaga had been defeated, and the realms were secure once more. But there was one battle that remained. Liu Kang's body had been used by some unknown force as a tool of destruction. It had left death in its wake and needed to be stopped. The chaos would end in Earthrealm.

The fight raged with neither kombatant able to best the other, when a jolt of energy crackled through them both. Liu Kang's nerves blazed like fire, and he felt a rush of air fill his lungs for the first time since his death. He was Liu Kang once more: Protector of Earthrealm, Champion of Mortal Kombat.

Formerly with the White Lotus Society, Liu Kang earned the right to represent the Shaolin in the Mortal Kombat tournament. The thunder god Raiden knew that Shang Tsung's forces could not be overthrown by a lone warrior and helped Liu Kang to forge an alliance with other competitors. With their aid, he defeated the sorcerer and saved Earthrealm from domination.

Is this copy and paste?

Anyways, I think Lui Kang is better than most people give him credit for.

I think Liu Kang is a very skilled martial artist, but I don't think a lot of people like the idea of the "Main Hero". I also think Liu Kang dragged out for too long.

Liu Kang is without a doubt my ultimate favourite character. I don't know why people say "he's not a good char" or "he's been dragged out for too long".
If we say that about other game characters then i personally feel that Mario sucks as computer game character and has definately been dragged out too long. He has had his break (during MKDA) and the story line for him at present is faily solid for existance to still be valid.

People say "can't he just die already?"

Answer: No, because his spiritual bond with Kitana was so strong, she managed to keep him from passing on. She confronted Nightwolf, and now the spirit of Liu Kang is bound to the earth by him - personally i think that's a brilliant idea - and Mortal Kombat has a habbit of bringing dead characters back alive. Look at Shang Tsung - he died, but came back to life because his spirit was bound to Shao Kahn, Shao Kahn fashioned him a new body and through gathering souls Tsung was back to his former ways. According to what i've read in Nighwolf Bios, they are looking to restore Liu Kang.

I know people hate the look of liu kang, so it would be cool to destroy Liu Kangs body and have him find a new host that could change his appearence into something different - thus withdrawing the view that many people hold that "he is too sterotypical of a fighter".

People seem to not realise that:
Johnny Cage
Shang Tsung
Quan Chi
Shinnok
Raiden
have all died - and they have either been reborn through magic, the netherealm or because theyre a god who gets reborn in earth realm with no memory.

So what i don't understand is why if those characters have all died and come back (and there are even more characters who have done the same). Why would they kill of another character perminantly. And yes alot of characters won't be returning in MK8, but my instinct tells me Liu Kang will be back for sure in some form.

Liu Kang is one of my favorite characters. He needs to be in every future Mortal Kombat game in someway.

His ending in Mortal Kombat Armageddon was one of the best for sure. I hope it's canon.

LIu Kang served his purpose, and that purpose was to ultimately fail in MKDA, thus new seeds of warriors could be implemented into the game. I kinda liked the idea that it requires several generations against one (or in our case two) of the evils from Outworld.

I feel with out liu kang, there would be no mortal kombat because if he had not one the previous tournements, evil probably would have consumed the earth realm and netherrealm eventually. This is why my runescape name is: liu kang mk3

The mysterious mortal that can turn into a dragon and shoot fireballs from a distance. Though I like his fast sense of fighting, and battle cries. Lui not too bad, because the guy is able to remain "still" a top notch fighter to use rather than the majority in Armageddon. His weapon is just fast and aggressive too.

I always have liked Lui Kang. He is not my fav but I liked him.
The connection to me is he is the Bruce Lee of MK. I will always
look at him that way. I find that cool.
Just like my fav. Johnny Cage. I connected to him cause
man I loved that movie Blood Sport. Frank Dux was a good character(Van Damme). So to me its like Bruce Lee and Van Damme in one game how cool was that. Loved it. To be honest that was what got to me really like the whole MK game to begin with. I could relate to some of the characters and the rest is history.
