What was the idea behind Classic Sub-Zero's ending in UMK3/MKT? Was it an attempt to bring the older Sub-Zero back from the dead or was it to have someone else take on that identity?

-----

Shao Kahn is one of my favorite characters, and he's also one of the more mysterious ones despite how long he's been in the series. What exactly is Shao Kahn's race/species? Is he supposed to be a god, demi-god, or something else?

-----

When coming up with the name Noob Saibot, did you think it would be a little odd to give him a name like "Noob" considering the connotations that word has?

-----

Were there any fatality ideas proposed to you that you felt would be going too far? If so, what were they?

-----

How do you explain Quan Chi's success in being able to deceive others that are stronger and/or smarter than him, especially gods like Shinnok? Do you think that perhaps in some ways, Shinnok was greatly overshadowed by Quan Chi in MK4?

-----

As a huge fan of the overall mythology of the series, I was extremely disappointed (but not particularly surprised) with the quasi-reboot story in MK2011. How do you feel about the current story direction? What would you have done instead?

Hey, not sure if you checked the show but he basically said that he generally doesn't like reboots and that he would rather see the story advance. He also didn't like the way Jax went down to Sindel in the church massacre.

Other than that, I lol'd when they talked about creating characters back in the day and how he hated Kabal and Stryker. On the other hand, he seems very fond of Goro.

Yeah, I watched the interview, which was very interesting. I did not realize until a bit later that I sent my questions too late. I had tried sending them in the night before, but there was a problem with the server, so the questions that could have been seen and read did not go through...So...you can imagine just how disappointed I am.

Regardless, I'm still glad to see that interview. It was very interesting to learn that Reiko's original concept was to be a reincarnation of Shao Kahn as a general. It does explain his MK4 ending. I really wanted to at least ask about Shao Kahn's race/species. I know that now, he's considered to be something of a god much like Raiden. However, I wanted to know what John Tobias' ideas were for Shao Kahn.
