Yeah for me, it depends on the game. Usually I rotate between my favorite MK characters.

Lol, I usually pick with the fighter I started out with as chances are I didn't beat it with them yet. But if I'm just playing for fun, Scorpion, and Shao Kahn are my choices. Normally Scorpion because he's my favorite, but this is my first time being able to use Kahn, so I let myself go sometimes.

That, or ONaga and Sub-Zero.

not that this has much baring on game play, but i love all of sub;s costumes... except mkd alternative. i love his newest "shredder" look. so i do play him a lot cos he looks good.
