why? secret characters, "YAY" graphics, and not a ton of characters like MKT to fill your "choose your fighter" screen.

The fact that all the MK characters were playable in MKT, all from the start, i think it sucked, because the game had no secrets at all.
And we all know that one of the main columns of MK is the mistery & secrets. They could at least put the boss characters as unlockable, or hiden characters. That would turn the game more interesting.

I'm all for UMK3 as the best 2D MK. Because it had a good characters balance (the one that really missed was Raiden), secret stuff, and does not have that "agressor" system.

MKT, hands down. every original character, regular fatalities, bio and endings for each, everyone is unlocked. and the secrets.

Tie between MKT and MK1

all of mk1 mk2 mk3 umk3 mk4 and mkg are all great games but MORTAL KOMBAT trilogy is deffinitly my favorite.

umk3 is my fav just like nightcrow not too many caracters secret caracters lots of different finishers babyality, animality, brutality, fatality, and friendship and then there are nice and it's kinda where the whole mk was like *boom!!!! the best fighting game ever!!!!* so ya umk3

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was my favorite. It got hooked me when they got Ermac, Human Smoke and Noob Saibot (he's not playable) in the arcade version of UMK3.

I think UMK3 is the best out of all of the ones you listed.

It's either MK3 for being both filled with first chain-combos, running and better gameplay overall and not brimming with 7 copied ninjas and some cheap-ass bosses with whom the player 2 can always kick your ass, like in MKT...


...or MK4, for having goddam Quan Chi, people !

Mk:T was good for me, enough to say I liked it better then Mk:1-3.
When it comes down to Mk:4 v.s. Mk:T, I'll go with Mk:4 because I'm more skilled at it, seeing how easier it is to play.
