I need some advice here. I know that a lot of sub zeros hide behind ice clones. I'll admit sometimes this works against me if I don't have a teleport or easy way to get in close. But I was just playing as Baraka and I could not come up with anything to counter the ice clone. There's no low projectile, I can't jump over it, I can teleport around it, nothing. The only thing that is possible was to time it so that I jump in at the right second.
Any advice using Baraka vs a cloning sub would be appreciated.

use his projectile. even if subby blocks, youll still cause some chip damage. also avoid getting frozen, as thats a free combo for him. if you just keep hitting him with the projectile and avoid being frozen, he'll either have to come to you, or youll win by letting time run out and having more health left.

Trouble is, if I throw a projectile when he does, he gets hit but I get frozen. They know this and they do it.

Doesn't his EX Blade charge have armor? You could use that to get through clones when a Sub player isn't expecting it.

if you stand close to him, but not close enough to touch the clone when you use your projectile, he wont have time to throw his ice ball. ive been beaten by a baraka that did this one round, and when i took the fight to him, his faster attacks hurt me bad.

If you use the term "spam" I have no time for your argument.

Suggesting you throw a projectile won't work. If you duck without blocking it misses completely so no chip damage. You will get a little bit of meter though, so IF your ex-dash stab thing goes through the clone that is a option.
My opinion; Use a different character, at least against Sub Zero. I would imagine he is probably one of the worst matches for Baraka (amoungst many bad ones). Baraka is only good when the opponent is a careless idiot who wants to rush down and jump in all the time, and does not learn from his mistakes...ever. Sub is the exact opposite of this if he is played decently.

As always penguin my advice to you is to quit ditching good players, and stop scrub hunting. You really would learn much faster.

How does one know which moves have "armor?"

Try them in a match lol. If the move cancels when you are hit, it does not have armor, but if it continues, it does have armor. JC's EX shadow kick and Nightwolf's EX shoulder charge are good examples. Oh yeah, you still take the damage, but you finish the move. You can go through projectiles and Sub Zero's ice clone.

ha! you gotta be kidding me! baraka is a beast and he can beat sub zero easy! but then again you only know reptile and keep declining my challenges...so i guess you're talking about sub zero in arcade mode.

Yeah sub zero is just tough for me. I fall for the clone stuff all the time especially when I am playing someone without a teleport.
Especially when you're in a corner and the clone comes out and traps you into the corner.
Okay, so the armor charge might go through it, but that move throws people back, and of course they can just wake up and throw a clone again. Any other ideas?

Stay on him. If you're right next to him, he can't clone, and Baraka does have options in close.

This is an incredibly bad matchup for Baraka but not impossible. He can duck and not hold block and his projectile will go clean over his head and not cause any chip. Avoid getting frozen (duh), use sparks to build meter, use EX blade charge to get in (ex blade charge has armor), and once your in, keep pressuring him and don't let up. Baraka has some incredible frametraps in this game you can use those to your advantage once you get in close. And him blocking your frametraps will get alot of chip damage and build you a ton of meter so if he breakers and uses ice clone just use another EX blade charge.
It's better to try and bait iceballs so you can use EX blade charge to barrel right through them.

What do you mean? (@roboboy) What do you mean by frame traps? Like, corner him?

he's pretty easy if you stay on him and be careful, if he's not almost touching you he can easily throw out an Ice clone and freeze you. If you're going to block always block love unless he tries to do the Ice sword combo because it goes over crouching block, if you don't block low he'll try to ice slide you.
all you really have to worry about is Ice slide and Ice clone, stay close and use his projectile whenever Sub gets to far. If he tries to jump away do blade lunge and catch him in the air(you have to get him right as he jumps/lands) take advantage of barakas Low pop up and his easy X-ray combos.
if he jumps in he's screwed obviously because of chop-chop and blade spin.
