Battle & Brew Atlanta tourney footage on YT - nice Sonya, Smoke and Liu Kang action

With nothing new in the Strategy Zone in the last couple of days I thought I'd post a link to a really great grand finals match I watched recently. It's from the Atlanta's Battle & Brew tourney.
This is the grand finals footage (on YouTube) between ATL_R3DD (Evo2011 top 8 finisher, going by the name "FR ATL_TomBrady" here) and Clint the Beast.
Great matches with some really cool Liu Kang, Smoke and Sonya action, plus a little bit of Freddy too.

It's nice to see Liu Kang back on the scene after a while (remember also XBlades from SoCal, plays at Thunder Dome tournaments). Same can be said for Smoke who was, just as Liu Kang, very popular early on and then disappeared from the scene (except for Aris' Smoke, but I don't think he plays anymore).
I also saw KT Smith play Smoke at Valley Stream Monsters last time, and he too is pretty awesome with him. This is a new Smoke we're seeing, a much much sicker (and more fun to watch) Smoke. I can definitely see Smoke placing high in the upcoming tournaments (seems like KT Smith will be playing at NEC and I have a feeling he'll do well).
As for Sonya, she has been appearing more often in various streams for a while now and seems to be doing pretty well. I wouldn't be surprised to see her place high in the upcoming tournaments either (maybe Riu48's Sonya at NEC, not sure if he'll play there though).
Overall, it's nice to see so many different characters at various tournaments and here's hoping we'll get to see some nice Jades and other characters "in the shadow" in the near future.

I'm always interested in seeing the most updated tourny footage of Lui Kang ever since I read somewhere on TYM how Reo was sayin he's the next big thing. I swear i read he was gonna pick him up too. I feel like all the rush down characters have had their time in the 'spot light' so to speak EXCEPT Kang. I mean we've seen some talented players use him at tourny's before, but i still don't think we have seen him used quite to his full potential. Like here i was really, really surprised to see him get outzoned by Sonya. Does his low fireball really not go under her projectile? Or was that an issue of timing? And i didn't see the ATL guy really do much with Kang's instant air fire balls. Is there something that prevents Kang's iaf from being used/abused like Kitana's, Mileena's, and Kabal's? (I guess aside from a more damaging follow up).
Also, this is irrelevant, but the MK nerd in me has always secretly wanted to see a Kang player win a tournament. It just fits in with the MK plot so well lol. Like how epic would it be if the Devastation grand finals came down to Detroitballin's Shang vs. ATL's Lui Kang?? shit would be awesome

On topic, I don't remember who the Quan Chi player is but...holy crap those rune traps are ridculous and it's unblockable and seems unescapable too..or at least if it is, nobody was able to escape it.

This was the first time I've ever seen Tom use Liu Kang, I was impressed. I wish Liu Kang had a slightly higher learning curve, I might would have picked him up.
Oh and as for Clint the Beast and his Sonya, I luv it so much, he is just wonderful, out maneuvering other rush down characters like it's nothing and those resets, holy hell, those resets
I am a very proud Sonya fan today 
I have a difficulty canceling dive kick into that one combo he does, I just usually convert the dive kick into leg grab for 24%.
I wish more people posted in here, this stuff really inspires people to get better at the game and it's so much fun to watch all this footage.

PS. Espio, I don't think that's THE Tom Brady. In Nephrite's OP it says his name is "ATL_REDD" and he's using "FR ATL_TomBrady" for this tournament.

I wish I could play like that. Those matches were fantastic and a lot of fun. I'm excited and happy to see different characters being used and not just the same ones that we always see. Also:

My apologies to everyone for not replying earlier, due to some technical difficulties I was left without internet access since last Monday. Everything is fine now, just in time for NEC tourney this weekend, phew.
I appreciate the kind words, thank you guys! I'm glad you liked it, I too enjoyed it a lot and I'm sure we'll have a real treat this weekend with the NEC tourney- a really big one!

@Spaceman: Liu was a popular pick very early on, but he's still doing fine with ATL R3DD and XBlades reppin' him. I'm not sure about REO playing him, I know he talked about his iAF being ridiculous when using the hit box, but he feels the hit box should be banned anyway. At one VSM REO said his favorite character (in concept) is Kabal and his 2nd fave is Mileena, so I assume he'll stick to Kabal.

The 2,1 string is not troubling me anymore, I can get it pretty much constantly after the dive kick cancel, it does big damage. You just need to press 2, 1 very quickly after d+4 (dive kick).
