Block Strings: What are they? How to create them? How to counter/break them?

Same here. I'm kinda amateur at doing them and avoiding them. When I play with Kitana I usually try to escape them with her d+1 as it is quick and has a good reach.

However, I've met some players online who mastered this technique and totally mind-fucked me lol.

Pulled this off a SF 4 advanced guide:

Block Strings
A block string is a term used for a series of hits that keep the opponent blocking, and push the aggressor back to safety. This allows an offensive player to dictate the flow of a match and force the opponent into a series of guessing games. The idea with block strings is that by using them in your offensive game, you can alternate your offence with different methods to create damage on your opponent whilst remaining relatively safe.



Naturally MK doesn't have mix up combos quite like SF so the application won't translate quite the same. I think frame recovery plays a significant factor since anticipated block strings that don't create +frames for the aggressor or blockstun on the opponent can lead to punishment.
