I'm just curious as to what you guys think because this implies a lot about NRS's design philosophy. Did they really believe he needed it? Is fixing the reset comparable to fixing the input bug and therefore simply not doable? Did they just presume the game wouldn't be played by enough high-level players for Cyrax's resets to be an issue (EDIT: I just can't see this last one being true)?
If the first possibility is true, I suggest a new combo-labeling system resembling the one used in MvC3.
20-39% - Vicious Combo
40-59% - Bloody Combo
60-79% - Brutal Combo
80-99% - Deadly Combo
100% - He Needs It

This is gonna sound extreme, but couldn't we give Cyrax two bomb distances instead of three? It would be a huge wrench in his game, but he still wouldn't be bottom ten or anything.
I don't play Cyrax, so I don't even know which bomb distances lead to the most common reset situations (the close one, I'd imagine). I'm not endorsing; I'm just suggesting. I don't even think Cyrax is broken to be honest. He's stupid. He's FUCKING stupid, but not anything like ST Akuma.
Thank heavens they nerfed Sindel, though. That bitch was a problem.

Obviously the Vita version is simply messed up.
I just don't think they can fix the resets without some drastic changes and those are just too risky in terms of character balance. Between removing the resets and buffing the weaker characters I'd go for the latter. I don't think we'll see any changes for the consoles anymore though.
These days a solid (mid-tier, imo) character like Kitana is struggling bad to win a tournament without back-ups. I can't help but feel sorry for the likes of Kano, Noob Saibot, Sheeva, etc.

I swear to god lol. CDJR thinks that Sheeva is mid tier.. Obviously trolling, but really? 9% sindel x-ray combo? What the fuck is NRS doing?

lol, I jest. I really wanted to learn Sindel, but I got sick of losing. I haven't given up yet and I don't think she's bad, but at the same time, there has to be some balance between improving and having fun. When I feel more proficient with a few more of my backups, I'll give her another swing.

Agreed. However, I have a feeling the Vita costumes and a balance update are going to be packaged together after the Vita version's prime.

Nah, I think Kitana will be okay. She's going through some growing pains, though. Once all the match ups have been explored heavily, I believe she'll remain confidently in the top 10 (not top five, though).
And I don't think Noob is bad. He's just severely misunderstood. He's a metagame character: mastering Noob means stringing together guessing situations and getting inside your opponent's head. Once Noob has breaker, he ought be going a little crazy. People lose with Noob because they play him as a pure zoner, and that's not what he is. IMO, Noob's tele-slam is a better slide, and if Sub's slide is doing the trick to shut down footsies, then so should slam. If people try to win with long-distance lock down, they'll get butchered. Those days are over.

Lol, he needs it. After more than a year playing MK (and competitively) I've come to the conclusion that it is a mediocre fighting game. Cyrax's resets are just but one problem MK9 has. 1p advantage, derpy specials, senseless armor distribution, unavoidable resets (cyrax), wakeup window, extremely high damage for some characters, you name it.

Then I hope that balance update has nothing to do with the current Vita changes. Although, I doubt we'll have more DLC for consoles.
It seems like Kabal's ground saw projectile still hits low, we've been trolled.

Lazy programming is my guess. NRS attempted to nerf a Jax corner tactic (involves Elbow Smash, followed by EX Ground Pound), and ended up affecting any attack that causes the "fall-on-face" animation. Such as Sindel's B+1. Sektor's U+3, 4. And Quan Chi's U+3. I'm pretty sure one of Jade's attacks causes that "fall-on-face" animation too.
The Jax corner tactic that NRS attempted to nerf, mentioned above, causes that "fall-on-face" animation.
