Recently, I wanted to play the demo to see what had changed since then (I was bored). Here's what I found:

Non gameplay:

- Scorpion's punch on Sub-Zero had an electric sound effect.
- Custom soundtrack was supported (awesome).

Universal Gameplay:

- Faster dashes.
- Faster uppercut recovery.
- Wake up attacks didn't have invincibility.
- JIP, uppercut did 9% (now it's 11%).
- Glitch sometimes increased or decreased damage.
- Breakable X-Rays.

Scorpion:

- D4 animation was different.
- Different fire effect on physical attacks.
- No glow effect on EX specials.
- Unsafe Leg Trip.
- EX Leg Trip was slower, had less range and did not have armor.
- Linkable Hellfire (ouch).
- X-Ray did 38% (now 30%).
- Air throw did 14% (now 8%).
- Teleport had less gravity scaling.

Sub-Zero:

- Blood stayed on the ice clone.
- Ice Clone did not dissapear when hit and stayed longer.
- No glow effect on EX specials.
- Kori Blade stayed longer after 2, 2, freeze.
- B2 caused knockdown and was not unblockable when fully charged.
- Freeze Ball pushed back on block and had more block stun.
- EX Ground Freeze could be used to reset.
- EX Slide didn't have armor
- X-Ray did 28% (now 33%)
- Double freeze did 7% (now 5%)
- Lower damage scaling (about 5% less).

Johnny Cage:

- Glitch sometimes prevented bar from depleting after a whiffed X-Ray.
- No glow effect on EX specials.
- Parry glitch usable.
- EX Shadow Kick didn't have armor.
- EX Flip Kick did 13% (now 16%) and had more voice clips.
- Less gravity scaling.
- Projectiles had faster recovery.
- Block infinite with 2.

Mileena:

- More effects on EX specials.
- B1, 4 was a knockdown.
- Could link 4, 2, tele kick after two U4.
- Slower 1.
- Glitch prevented opponent from blocking after a neck bite used during a juggle.

What do you think about this changes?

Clearly most of them were for the better.

I think this is DP worthy based on what is stated in the FAQ.

Fantastic job, GS!

Do you mean "after two u+4"?

I think pretty much every character was broken in the demo. How many jk-teleport cancels could Scorpion do in one combo? I think he had like a 75% damage meterless combo? Johnny had an infinite in the corner if I'm not wrong. I think Mileena had a block infinite? I'm pretty sure Subby had some corner stuff with his clone too.

I played the demo for 5 mins the other day as well. True, the sound effects in the main menu are different, the sound is sharper, like more metallic (when Scorpion punches Subby). Also, the camera has different positioning during matches. I play on SD TV and I can barely see the arena ground in the demo because the camera is positioned higher than in the final version of the game.

Thanks!

Yep, I mean two U4 lol.

It's true, the gravity scale on Scorpion's teleport was lower giving you the chance to do more than what's currently possible.

5 Teleports in one combo

Johnny Cage's was a block infinite.

Mileena was not a block infinite but rather a glitch after bf2 was done during a juggle which prevented you from blocking. As the description says you could still jump or duck.

Sub-Zero could reset in the corner after a knockdown using his EX Ground Freeze.

I agree with most of this changes except the custom soundtrack support removal and the slower dashes.

It seems that JC was given slower projectiles to make him more of a close combat fighter.

Ah, Johnny boy had a block infinite...

Yeah, it sucks that the custom soundtrack option got removed. I would love to experiment with that a little bit, but I also enjoy the game's default music.

As for the dash change. I'll never forget the first match I played after buying the full game. I went to arcade ladder, picked Subby and set it to expert because I was destroying the AI in the demo. I lost the very first match in the ladder to Ermac. I was dropping combos like crazy. It happened in the Wastelands lol.

Very good observations, what I miss the most is fast dashing and the custom soundtrack, two great options that would have been a real treat to keep or to have, I would love a custom select screen theme, I'd go with MK3 or something techno.

MKvsDCU had custom soundtrack support, I don't know why MK9 doesn't. When I played the demo it was so awesome to hear my MKDA playlist, now I can't lol.
