I think so.

Invincible Kabal- demonstration by REO.

Apparently same is possible with Skarlet and Raiden. This is really bad. It actually seems rather doable in a high-level match, that's the scary part.

So now the whole drama is whether the glitch alone should be banned or should Kabal (and other characters that can do it) be entirely banned?

I hope an agreement is achieved and the competitive scene only bans the glitch. Despite him dominating the scene, I'd hate to see Kabal go.

Your thoughts?

Indeed the worst glitch so far in MK9. For Kabal, it can be done with a Tornado Slam as well as a forward grab.

Ban Kabal; he causes enough problems for everyone. He is Darth Vader-tier (S+ Tier) even without the the Infinity Block.

But I'm fine with only the glitch getting banned.

Well, this could be a blessing in disguise. This may further inspire a patch in the future (especially now that MK10 is probably next-gen), and by extension, we could get the Vita DLC.

Otherwise, I'm not too worried. This glitch is dumb, but it's easy to recognize and therefore, easy to ban. We can treat it like Smoke's parry glitch and label label it as a technical forfeit whenever it happens (of the match, not the set).

You may be right, Tempy. Only one more patch, in my opinion, is needed before MK9 could be a reasonably balanced fighting game (remove the Armor on Nomad Rush).

But will NRS go back to MK9 to patch it one more time? We will see, in time.

I seriously doubt there's going to be another patch. They're focusing on Injustice now and MK has already had it's (better than expected?) run on the tourney scene. Plus, patches seem to be very expensive too. They could compensate for this by releasing Vita extras as console DLC, but there was an interview in which Hector Sanchez made it pretty clear that Vita extras are for Vita only and they have no plans releasing that content for the consoles.

Amen.

True. It's going to be a long shot, but after seeing the buffs-only patch they did for SF4, I still think it's in the realm of possibility. I don't know how much patches cost, but if WB is willing to drop 20,000 for Evo, a patch doesn't seem too far out there.

BTW, some jackhole did the glitch to me tonight, lol. Bastard did a spin while I was in the corner and then did the throw trick. I wasn't even salty, lol.

In other news, it seems like there's a special Kombat Tomb Podcast episode coming up! glasses
