I've been looking all over the internet trying to find out if the new one coming out next year will have fights online. I think they should. I have been a fan since the original came out, but it gets kind of boring playing the computer all the time. It would be worth paying $60 for just so you can fight against real people for a change.

Yes MK9/MK2011 WILL have online battles.

Known variations include:

-1v1 battle
-2v2 Tag Battle
-King of the Hill mode (8 players, winner fights on) KOTH will also include a rating system where the spectators give points to the palyers based on performance.

-Theres been mention of mini-tournaments but nothing concrete yet.
