Anyone else feel that Mileena is lacking a bit with combos? She has 2 or 3 combostrings. And none of those uses her sais.
Any chance that we will see some added combos with her to "complete" her or do you think she is fine as she is?

Comparing her combos to Kitana and Jade is sad...

I like doing the combo we see her do in the first trailer.
The roll, teleport kick, sai throw combo. It's a pretty decent one.

Mileena has plenty of combo strings. On the 360 leaderboards, someone has 22 or 23 hits with Mileena. I can pull off 17 hit combo. It isn't even that hard.

Yeah Mileena's combos come from all of her pop up options and juggles. She got nerfed down on damage from the demo so with damage scaling, it's not always better to go with the highest hit count combo.

Sounds like you're really implying that you wish Mileena's scripted combo animations used her sais more.

She definitely has half as many built in combos as many other characters... But I find she is one of the easiest characters to just improvise a combo with, because so many of her moves just flow into each other. The roll, for example, can be quickly tapped in during a few of her ready made combos to instantly follow them up(Like one of them, I forget what it is, but she does a kick then a sai slash, knocks the opponent back ending the combo, but the roll can switch in immediately, preventing the knock back and turning that complete combo into a combo starter)... I don't think she really needs more combo options though, because her damage scaling is pretty ridiculous. After a seven-ish hit combo, her neckbite that hits multiple times will hit for 1% and 0% at the end of the combo, making it less effective than an uppercut(which ends the combo as well)...

Mileena needed more combos with her Sais

It was great with Kitana and Jade using her weapons but they forgot Mileena.

Combostrings = FP+FP+BP
I'm not talking about including specialattacks.
Look into her movesetlist, not many combos in there.

Yes, she does lack as many combostrings as other characters, but her moveset flexability make up for it. Like some one said up there, her moves do flow pretty well.

My favorite minicombo is

2,3,ball,bite.

I'm going to move this over to Strategy. Mileena does have options and a few dedicated players can help you out over there. She's not an easy character to use.

I actually find her extremely easy to combo with. She has bread and butters around 20+ hits. Here's what I use:

u+4, u+4, b+1,4, 1,1,2,ball, 1,1,2,bite (or x-ray if available)

2,3,EX ball, u+4, b+1,4, 1,1,2,ball, 1,1,2,bite

It's very easy to mix up her b+3, b+3,4, or b+4 with her u+4. Although it may not be the best mixup, it's effective enough. Anyone looking for a little help with Mileena, Cyrax, Ermac, Sub Zero, Scorpion, Kitana.....pretty much the whole roster, feel free to add me on XBL. John Grizzly is my gamertag. I'm no elite player, but at the very least I can help you with juggle timing and basics.

That's not true..Her F+3, 1+2 uses her sais, and is a big player in her combo strings. Mileena is one of my most used characters, she's a murderer if you use her right.
Try this video to give you hope. I can easily pull off 20-22 hits - 40% in an online match.

Mileena isn't lacking anything in this game. She's FUKIN quick and extremely difficult to block against. I would even dare to say that she's over powered speed and ability wise. Skilled Mileena users, are the ones who give me the hardest time.

Shes my main, and she is perfectly fine IMO, she is a high-mid tier character. The only thing i think that should be changed on her is her EX roll should be a low hit.

Her only other problem is she doesn't have real good mix-ups because her only combo string with a low attack in it is b+3 -> b+1 which are both low hits. Luckily though she can do B+3 -> roll which is a guerenteed combo.

I think Mileena is awesome. I like Jade and have practiced with her way more, but I do much better with Mileena online.

The combo I use most is B+1,4, teleport, sai, ball roll, 3,4, neckbite for 30%. It's not super powerful, but I don't drop it often like some other combos.

The only thing I hate about her F+3,1+2 is that 1+2 is a pain in the butt to press on a pad, and I don't want to be turning my hand sideways to hit the buttons evenly, so I have to try to get my thumb precisely between them and it leads to a lot of dropped 1+2's.

1+2 was a biatch for me as well early on, but I changed the button layout since many character use 1+2.

Try this button config, for PS3:

FP - cross
BP - square
FK - circle
BK - triangle

This way 1+2 becomes cross+square which is a very easy combination to press with your right thumb as it goes naturally with the direction of your right thumb.
