i went online today (XBOX 360) and i cant believe the SMOKE ,SCORPION and RAIDEN spam every other person i played was one of these 3 or the same character in a row how is this game supposed to get respect when the basic things a fighting game needs is balance and an answer for everything for example

1 when a teleporting character fights a non teleport character the teleporter wins 90% of the time

2 if a person spams a move if you try to jump away assuming you dont have enough meter to do a breaker your just stuck

3 why is there no answer to noob or sheevas teleport even if you jump away it tracks

4 why is it that no one is really trying with this game online i know that online is not a real representation of skill of any kind its a battle of who pushes/mashes fastest but really WTF why so little effort

anyone please give some insight as far as what can be done to find an answer to the nonsence

i played alot of spammers on xbox live and the only one i have a problem with is raiden. I can beat scorpion and smoke spammers pretty easily, so you just gotta practice. Its an easy win if you know what your doing. :)

Went through this same problem with Flash spammers in Mkv s DC. I sued Scorpions Ignite move.

Try using Cyber Sb or if you have PS3 kratos. Their counter moved work pretty well. They work for every kind of move, so as soon as that telepunch comes, they're gonna get served. You could just block too, since those moves have some pretty big recovery times. If you know any good air combos that's the time to use them

First and foremost, Quit bitching. Little babies like you drive me nuts. This game is very well balanced, you just have to think a little bit harder than the spammers.

"1. When a teleporting character fights a non teleport character the teleporter wins 90% of the time. "

Not true, its just that you lose to teleporting characters 90% of the time.

"2. If a person spams a move if you try to jump away assuming you dont have enough meter to do a breaker your just stuck"

Breakers stop Kombos not spammed moves, and why are you jumping away from a spammer, you want to pressure them.

"3 why is there no answer to noob or sheevas teleport even if you jump away it tracks"

Block Noob and punish, Jump toward Sheeve (also jump toward Kintaro)

"4. why is it that no one is really trying with this game online i know that online is not a real representation of skill of any kind its a battle of who pushes/mashes fastest but really WTF why so little effort "

Actually you can find skillful players online, your probably just noob hunting.

"anyone please give some insight as far as what can be done to find an answer to the nonsence"

Quit crying, and start thinking.

haven't played more than two matches online yet, but yes...there will be cheese. there always is and the reason is because most people just want to win. the response you give should be the same.

telporters - not sure how to deal with them in this game yet. I'm sure everything I say in this thread about that will be easier said than done.

spamers - jumping isn't the way deal with that, you can only zone. All moves should have an answer, you just have to find it. smoke's bomb...jump or dash forward. if they spam, you should have a counter with either of those. it's all about timing and the moves you choose to answer with.

noob and sheeva's teleport - a well timed forward dash breaks the tracking aspect of those, sheeva's more than noob's. Noob's, I think, you should be able to duck it...at least that is how it used to be.

finally, online can be a test of skill. like I said before, timing beats spamers, but you have to be patient. let them come to you and when they make a mistake you capitalize.

I have to agree with this .As soon as they spam that teleport or whatever make your move and punish. If anything get them into a corner and just sweep, combo and uppercut the hell out of them. Plus guys like me who play as CSZ a lot causes fits with that ice parry move.

I like Rhino Charge, Sweep, Lightning, Throw and the fast hatchet combo (Back and sq*5 on PS3).

Lightning at point black range is LOLtastic.

If you want to avoid Sheeva's teleport stomp, simply walk. I play as Sheeva for a good part, and a friend of mine was complaining about her stomp as well... until he found out all he had to do was walk. Dashing not required.

whoa whoa whoa im not complaining and no i dont have a prob with spammers ive been playing fighters for a while now and can deal with them for the most part my point was why is it that people dont really try and push themselves to actually play the game?! instead they pick 2 moves that can be spammed and do it over and over it just gets boring to play against

as for rushing a spammer i do it all the time in VF5 ,SC4 aswell as SSF4 so its not a real prob and im not bitchin im just trying to get some insight on how this game is played at a semi competetive level

i plan to push myself as much as possible with this MK unlike my feeble attempts with past MK games this MK has potential to be one of my favorite fighters

and no i dont prey on newbs ive beaten players with 200 plus wins and 50 or less loses i play whoever!!!!!!! furious

Raiden is this game Seninel IMO. His electric fly and teleport are so cheap. The electric fly is kind of forgivable, because it is so punishable.
But his teleport is super fast and he commits to nothing. Hell, he could even do a safe combo and be fine.

Smoke and Scorpion I'm used to. If they spam teleports then there in a world of hurt.

I will say that when the game lags a person with zero skill can beat me. There moves will be predictable, and there execution and timing is poor. But because it is lagging I can't punish or block properly. Suddenly my moves have little priority.

Listen for Raidens teleport and as soon as you hear it, DOWN+X (PS3, its that really fast toekick move. You dont need to block anything if its a passive teleport you can just counter immediately. I like the toe kick cause its very fast.

All of the tips that were given in the thread are good--spammers can be defeated, you just have to use their over-use of a move to your advantage. Most teleports when blocked leave your opponent in the air. Go into practice mode and find the most damaging follow-up combo for a blocked teleport, and then block and execute.

I'm not one that is upset with people who are frustrated with online players of MK--I understand their frustration. Honestly, I own noob spammers, but it's not really fun to play them. It feels like work. It's sad that the percentage of players who play MK and spam is like double every other game. I'm not sure why that is, but the MK crowd is easily the cheapest....most players do not even have the slightest clue about anything in the fighting engine. It makes it easy to win, but it's hard to find people to play with that will actually tune your skills. Oh well, hopefully the Street Fighter crowd will start playing...they have spammers too, but not NEARLY as much as you find in MK.

Just keep practicing combos to punish blocked teleports, and find moves with quick startup frames to get in close and pressure. You'll eventually get to the point where fighting spammers is funny to you. It's still sad, but at least you won't be losing and frustrated.

Only freaking stinks, I can't pull off my long combos with Mileena due to the lag. It really limits you to the things you can actually pull off.

Also, sometimes I block a combo and when I'm about to do mine it takes a long ass time to input, and the person combos me again with no problem. How does getting host work? :S

With Scorpion, you can also do his F+BK, FK against passive teleports. It hits low, high, so your opponent has react quickly.

BTW street fighter was just as Cheap.

Shoryuken+HAdoken with all 10 of the shoryu characters in the game. Or fucking Sagat.

MK just seams that way because it was the first online. Whenever you play online a lot of people will suck and try to one trick you. Thats in every online game. Learn how to beat it, and when you have good matches add them to your friend list.

Its not that hard to have a good online experience.

It's important to note that Sheeva's teleport is controllable at start-up in that the Sheeva player can have her teleport:

1. In-front of the opponent (By teleporting then holding directional in-front)
2. Default tracking (Simply entering teleport)
3. Behind opponent ( Teleporting then holding directional behind opponent.)

Changing the teleport properties changes the counter/punisher a bit.
