MKX gameplay impression

Hi Fello Injustice fans,

A friend of mine bought MKx. So i had a chance to check out the game .

I played the hell out of Mk9, great game, love it. It had flaws like inputlag, etc. but it was fluid and fast paced. And to top that, it had all the great stuff like, klassic stages, characters, cheats etc.. So, now i had finally hands on Injust.. i ment MkX.

So how was my experiance? It felt stiff as hell! I remember ppl said, its not like injustice? its exactley like that crappy game. And why cant i swipe on the D-pad to execute any specials?! wtf is up with that? is there an option for it pherhaps?

We must have played two different games, Injustice and MKX don't feel alike at all, Injustice is way more stiff and clunky than MKX.

Was injustice even more clunky and stiff? Wow, i was already annoyd with MKX 's stiff gameplay. Still, its no reason for MKX to have stiff gameplay. i have to admit that i barely played lamejustice as it was not my thing. but so far it really felt the same for me in MKX.

what made injustice stiffer and more clunky than mk x for you?

MKX isnt clunky, you're obviously not playing the game correctly if you believe that. MKX is also faster paced than both MK9 and Injustice. Try turning release check off and turning input shortcuts on, that might help you.

It felt stiff to me at first too but eventually that feeling went away unlike Injustice which is just slower paced and legitimately stiff.

Yea MK9 grow on me aswell. it felt stiff at first and eventually you get used to it. still the game could be more fluid. especially kung lao felt stiff in mkx in comparisson to mk9. i guess the differences in MKx and inj. is that MK is faster paced. wich makes the stiffnes feel less present.

Dont take this the wrong way, but Saying MKX is like injustice is A Very very veeeery ingnorant comment.
MKX is so much more complex than MK9, thats why people sometimes say the game feels Clunky etc, etc. But thats because MK9 told us to play mk in an Automatic way, Now with MKX, everything is diferent, combo strings, Block stun, reversal time and como timing (MKX is much more precise in terms of comand inputs, if you spam a combo or a special move trying to chain eachother you wont succed). In MKX you have to thing a lot in combo start frames and all that kind of stuff to punish an oponent, This was pretty easy in MK9. Thats what made MKX more balanced even at launch (except for spectral ermac lol) But just like playing Street fighter alpha and later Street fighter 4, Its completely diferent and that keeps the game fresh.

Its OK If you Like MK9 combat mechanics more, But Saying MKX is Worst, or like Injustice..... Its a diferent Story. Crossups (this dont exist in MKX) , pokes, movility, frame traps, everything is diferent in Injustice, MK9 and MKX.

Personaly, and answering the Question, MKX has make me a better player because their new mechanics Like Run, and their ajustements with the stamina bar, equal frames being able to Block, punishing metod, etc. Have make me consider things that i didn ́t use to in a match. Personaly i thing MKX has much more to offer.

Just how it felt, there characters are slow and just feel clunky lol MKX doesn't feel that way to me

Dude i dont care if a nutt shell like you doesnt believe me. I dont have to prove you anything. Besides that, every win i won is recorded and on testyourmight and youtube. You just cant find it cause you dont know my players name...and please stop saying that mkx is better and sf is worst. Its a matter of taste. And you dont need to curse if you have inteligent points.

While I think this thread is a thinly veiled attempt at shitting on Injustice and MKX due to OP's shitty and butthurt skill set I will admit at first MKX felt wonky to me. Not stiff, but wonky. Like connecting combo's and shit was a lot more difficult because I had to take into account more variables, especially gravity, like where in the air was my opponent when i connected certain strings combined with the size of my opponent's hitbox. Even punishing obviously negative moves can be weird, like Sub Zero's slide which has a varying degree of push back based on how far away ur opponent did it from. While this isn't a new concept to NRS games it is much more prevalent in MKX i feel like. Overall tho part of me always cringes when I hear people talk about how "amazingly smooth" the game play feels.

Still tho I like MKX and do not see how it compares with Injustice, aside from certain character game play designs. I also liked injustice, but I admit if you were to ask me how I liked injustice after I played Grundy vs Hawkgirl or Superman I would eat your face off bathsalt style, so I'm willing to admit that game had problems.

But overall OP is a boob.

I'll agree with your last point that it's about personal taste when comparing MK to SF . If your prefernce is cartoony graphics, slow gameplay, and even incredibly boring/bland characters, guy in white gi vs guy in red gi, oh my! Then SF is just for you. Maybe 3 months after SF5 release they will shit out another version that includes interesting characters, but that's asking for the moongrin

Yeah, I agree with this. It is definitely a transition from playing MK9/Injustice to this, I get that, but the game does not feel stiff at all after you've played it for a week or so. It actually feels a lot better than both of those games, honestly the run mechanic is fucking awesome. Every game feels so fast paced and intense and it's a shame that the netcode pretty much fucking ruins this game. The game is fucking amazing, but if you don't have a local/offline scene you're basically fucked in the long run. I do agree though that it does feel wonky at first.

Hopefully NRS is still working on improving the netcode but I doubt they will.
