My Prizes from TRMK'S Autographed MK9 Fight Stick contest arrived today!

here is the un boxing of the beast of a controller.

pics arent that great. package came early this morning so lighting wasnt the best.

and now my review of the PDP MK Fightstick.

When looking at all the pics of these on line, they look much bigger then they really are. Which is great because it is the perfect size. The plexi glass overlay is crisp, clear and sturdy. The bottom is covered in a felt/velvet layer so it rests comfortably and softly no matter where you put it.

On the front, there is a very highly detailed "MK" etched gold clasp that keeps the lid closed. When opened, you can see a plexi glass "mortal kombat" etched box that protects all the button wiring (mine just so happens to be autographed thanks to TRMK and the MK team) The bottom can be used as a storage compartment for controllers, games, guides, or whatever else you decide you put inside.

The buttons follow the traditional classic mk button layout. Which is great for playing the MK Arcade Kollection, But not so much MK9 because of the placement of the L1, L2, and R1 buttons. I think the L2 and R1 should have been switched. Because for characters like scorpion, sonya, jax, etc that have air throws, it makes it really difficult to use the throw button in a combo as its at the top of the stick away from the rest of the buttons.

I recommend this for any and every mk fan that hasn't purchased one or has been thinking about getting one.

The craftmanship on this thing is TOP NOTCH. The gold hardware on the black finish really looks great. There is even a high quality tag on the back of it.

My overall rating for this is easily a 9.9/10. If you're a mk fan, this is a must buy.

Don't let the steep price fool you as this is one beautiful piece of work.

an did i mention mines autographed? :)

That's pretty fuckin' cool dude. Keep rockin it! I've tried stick many times for MK and I just can't get adjusted to it. Same goes for UMK3. I guess I'm a pad player, but I hope in near future i'll get to try out this fight stick or the hitbox.

thanks. yea its kinda weird playing stick again. i used to back in the old arcade days but i stopped that when i got my super nintendo, lol. after that i got used to game pads. i can play the classic mk games pretty decent but it throws me off ob mk9 bc the throw buttons too far away from the rest.

i built my own stick for mkda, mkd, and mka and the layout worked great for those specific games. and even the classic ones.

i held out on gettin one of these pdp sticks bc of the steep price but now that i have one and see how well made they are, their def worth it.

With the money I get from Christmas it would be a great opportunity to get one myself. I cannot, however, play on MK9. The dashing is so hard for me to do on stick. It's great for me on UMK3 though, definitely getting used to it so far. Great review btw.
