Soooo, I'm just trying to make Noob Saibot not seem like a character without much strategy other than to spam-spammy-spam his Shadow throw specials.

----------

Noob Saibot's Ghost Ball, is an interesting special move, it can render your opponent unable to block, but still move about. It's like a super-nerfed version of the Ice Ball, Noob's trademark special in his previous life. The Spirit Ball (EX Ball), not only disables your opponent's ability to block, but confuses their directional controls (Up is down, left is right, that kind of thing). If you constantly get your opponent hit by a Ball, and mixing up Ghost and Spirit Ball, it can lead to devious mind games, keeping your opponent on the edge by mixing up the Ghost and Spirit Ball so that they may have a harder time reacting and changing their control mindset when they are caught by a Spirit Ball.

I personally try to cancel a combo into a Ghost Ball should I ever have to engage in melee kombat, I'm still trying to figure out some good strategies to use after my opponent is hit by a Ghost Ball, I generally try to anticipate their next move, which will most likely be an offensive against Noob, and counter-attack when I can.

So, anyone got some good Ghost Ball strategies? Anything to say about his Ghost or Spirit Ball?

I don't think the ghost ball is too useful since the opponent can still move but the EX version can be very helpful since they become confused. I'm gonna try to use it more often since Noob doesn't really need bar outside the corner.

Have you seen FGA Mono play Noob Saibot? He's one of the most interesting Noob Saibot players I've seen on the tourney scene, love his black hole setups.

FGA Mono in action pt.1 (He used the ghost ball here for corner pressure at the end, plus did some black hole setups.)

FGA Mono in action pt.2 (More of black hole setups here.)

Wow! That guy Mono is amazing! He plays a very unique Noob, kinda like Detroit's Shang. I just wish he had some better competition, that would have been great to see (the only good comp. he had was that Raiden/Sektor guy). smile

I do enjoy watching Mono play Noob Saibot, but he was falling for Sektor's b3, 4 string way too often (hits low first).

Hopefully we see more of him in the future, he's got the dirt! glasses

Is it wrong i first read this thread as "Noob Saibots Ghost Balls?? haha, clicked the link expecting a VERY different thread.

But seriously, although I have played Noob very little in this game, wouldn't his ghost ball or better yet EN ghost ball make the best combo ender from mid screen or corner?? Like instead of ending a midscreen combo with the slide move (as i see a lot of Noob's do online) wouldn't it be ten times better to end with EN ghost ball to grant another combo if not a crazy black hole reset combo? Not sure how hit confirmable this is or how punishable ghost ball is on block, but in my mind that could make for a really cool strategy.

EDIT: Whoops didn't even think about the possibility of ghost ball whiffing from his basic combo set ups when not in the corner. Does he not have any regulars that would work to link in ghost ball mid screen??

lol, Noob's Ghost Balls, hahahahahehehehehe..........ummm....O_O

Well, (if you're talking about canceling his present combos into Ghost Ball)
I've tested B+1, 2, 1, 4, Ghost Ball, the Ghost Ball simply comes out too late to hit the opponent. B+1, 2, 1 xx Ghost Ball, works, though it's kind of hard for me to pull off consistently.
It is possible to 2, 1 xx into Ghost Ball, but 2, 1, 2, Ghost Ball, does not work.

B+2, 1 xx into Ghost Ball seems to be the best present combo cancel into Ghost Ball, as the B+2 is an overhead.
