So several characters have some interesting combos that involve multiple button presses at once. (Example: Mileena's "Pretty Slasher" F+3, 1+2) For the life of me though I can't figure out a way to hold the controller without completely shifting my hand. The result is a very impractical and sloppy execution. Any non-stick users that could offer up some advice please? Thanks in advance.

I have had some difficulty with some of those double-button inputs as well.
When I attempt Sonya's Tae Kwon Do stance tackle and pummel, it's easy to just shoulder charge on accident.

All I can say is to try and press the proper buttons simultaneously by using the joint area of your thumb (between your metacarpal and the proximal phalanx....lol.) Just slide into the button input. It's a lot easier than using the tip area of your thumb. I haven't found a specific way to hold the controller to facilitate inputs, though.

Hope this helps a bit. :-/

Huh...I can press 1+2 at the same time with the just tip of my thumb, but I'm pretty sure everyone can since 1+2 is pretty much just the mirror image of a forwards jump with the d-pad, F+U. Just pretend there's a button between 1 and 2 and press it normally

Actually, I sucked at pressing square and triangle together as well.

So, I changed my button layout like this:

square -> cross (front punch)
cross -> circle (front kick)
circle -> triangle (back kick)
triangle -> square (back punch)

So now I have to press cross+square which is WAY EASIER, it is also much more natural and in line with the right thumb position.

Try it! smile

Wow 3 equally viable solutions presented in an informative and helpful fashion. Just when my faith in this site started to waiver. Big thanks to all three of you although, after trying all three suggestions, I think Neph's feels the most fluid.

Cool! Glad I could help! smile

I had some negative experiences though:

- sometimes my custom button input wouldn't work in the Challenge Tower

- stage fatality in Kratos' arena still displays square, cross and circle to choose a type of fatality you want, but in fact you have to choose between cross, circle and triangle

- when you finish the arcade ladder, the statistics screen display shows you have to press "cross" to advance, but in fact you have to press "circle"

- Liu's low projectile is now done by pressing directional inputs and then circle while his high projectile is done by pressing directional inputs and then cross (that feels a bit unnatural considering the circle button is positioned higher than the cross button)

- Sindel too has high and low projectiles, however I haven't really played with her so I don't know how the new inputs compare to the original

... ... ...

Overall, I think these "problems" aren't that big of a deal, especially once you spend enough time with characters that have low and high projectiles and you get accustomed to the new (and a bit unnatural) inputs.

I'm definitely not changing back, especially since I often use Mileena's f+3, 1+2 combo and I really have no problems doing it with the new button config, unlike the original one which was a pain in the a$$ for me.
