I agree about Aris man, he just sucks at this game. I will say he has gotten slightly better in this vid and he is using a distinctly mid-tier character (in my opinion) so it makes for a change seeing some Smoke at tourneys. RIP and Krayziebone are another story. Both those guys are absolutely horrible players. Boner would not know a decent combo if it held him down and raped his big ass.

The guy he eliminated is the aforementioned Krayziebone. He is a mod on Test Your Might which is why for some reason he is "respected" in the MK community. If you think his play is bad you should hear his commentary (I actually find Aris's commentary to be quite good).

In an early interview he was asked (as a supposed knowledgeble guy on the new MK) what makes this game viable for tournament play and are there advanced tactics like footsies, counters, pressure etc?

Awesome shit man, watched the entire thing. I've ALWAYS had trouble with Noob's zoning/spam and watching KrazieBone beat RIP with Jade was definitely a highlight for me. I think he played really well that game despite dropping some combo's.

And I thought that Aris guy played pretty well too considering he was using Smoke who doesn't really have many different strategies to work with. That part where he won a round or maybe even a match with the enhanced shake was fuckin ballin. It was cool tho to see him get shut down before he could pull out the kano spam.

What do you guys think about that Kabal block infinite thing? I don't know much about it or how exactly it works but it looked like the person HAD to break in order to get out of it. Kinda seemed like more of a cheap bug than a skilled strategy, BUT those are Tom Brady's words coming out my mouth cause like i said, I don't fully understand it. Heard it was gonna be patched tho, i think.

And those 50% Kitana combo's from Konqrr gave me wood. So badass

@ Spaceman: Glad you enjoyed it dude. Yea, it was cool seeing Jade's tactics against Noob. As I said though, it would have been great if he could combo properly but oh well.

As for the block invinite, yea that thing sucks but it's gone now I believe. To get out you either had to use breaker or just decide to eat the combo early on before he does too much chip damage. Would be keen to see how effective Michelangelo will be without it. He should still be right up there I reckon, Kabal just has such great mixups.

Actually that ReveLAtions tourney was played with the 1.02 version of the game, meaning Kabal's block infinite was already gone. Mikey's win was 100% fair, no dirt.

He further established himself as an amazingly skilled player by winning a North California Evo Qualifying tourney which was also played with 1.02 version of the game. There, he beat Justin Wong in the grand final.

Mikey rules, he's an MK-exclusive tourney player and he even has a MK dragon tattoo on his hand! Gotta support someone who loves MK that much!

And yeah, Konqrr's 50% damage Kitana combos were sick! Thanks to his YT uploads I've learned quite a few of those as well. It was hard at first because the timing is tricky, but with enough determination and love for the character I managed to master them. He's my fave tourney player! He's also quite impressive with Kitana in UMK3 where she really isn't a top tier character.

Damn^ OK, that does make it way more impressive. Guy is definitley a contender in any tournament he enters.

MK has reeeeally come a long way. I still remember the days when fans would demand Mk's gameplay to be improved and be what it should be (tournament worthy): the MK team finally delivered.

I'm not a high level/great player, but, when I see this kind of videos, I sometimes wish I knew how to do those crazy moves.

Honestly, I suck at the New MK compared to everyone pretty much. I can't believe how some people are this good at it! It's insane! Man, this is too awesome.
