I'm playing smoke for a while now and i win most of my matches. the times I lose i cant break the high block of my opponent. I can only use sweep/throw to make them use lowblock and then start my combo.

My question is: Is there a way to start a combo when the opponent is blocking high when using smoke?

Nope.

And that sucks. But he does have the best sweep in the game so you will just have to use that. His whole game is to bait a combo and get your opponent to miss, letting you start your own.

But yeah, just sweep a lot and throw a lot so guys don't get comfortable just blocking you high all day. Or get a new main that is actually good...JK

The answer is no really. BUT his sweep is amazing, abuse the sweep and make them block low. Then use b+2, 4, smoke bomb to start your combo. That's my smoke game and usually works.

Oh, Smoke is okay. He just has some really really really bad match-ups along with some incredibly questionable move properties. He needs some fixs, but I'd say he's viable overall. He just doesn't have enough defensive options, and being that he's an anti-zoner, an an anti-poker like Ermac will break his face open.

But honestly, that's the name of the game. MK has incredibly lopsided match-ups compared to other fighters, so everyone needs a good counter-pick that compliments their main. Against Ermac, I opt towards Sub or Kabal.

As for low-hitting chains, I personally don't think he needs one. high block openers should be left to the pure rushdown characters; a good Smoke player should be relying more on mix-ups and mind games.
