Super Meter is earned through using special moves, having any attacks blocked, or taking damage. Every character has their own recommended rules and tips for managing their Super Meter. Some examples:

---Sektor---

He is quite a heavy Meter-oriented fighter; you need to use Meter to get the most out of Sektor's game. EX Teleport Uppercut (Metal Uppercut), it is safe on block gives extra damage, and can extend juggle combos in a way the normal Teleport Uppercut cannot. EX Up Missile (Homing Missile), it is a great part of Sektor's game. Allows you to make a bit of a mind-game with your opponent. A good rule to follow as Sektor is to spend a bar of Meter whenever you hit 3 bars. Otherwise, any Meter that would be gained is essentially wasted.

---Stryker---

Stryker does not rely on Meter to get the most out of his abilities, as opposed to Sektor. Meter is mostly spent on breakers or the X-Ray. Unless you want to deal a little bit of extra damage, or for Wakeup attacks, you're not going to spend any Meter, if at all on Stryker's EX moves. Stryker's Wakeup EX Baton Sweep isn't very reliable, as it is not guaranteed he will get Armor on it.

---Johnny Cage---

Johnny does not really need Meter to be effective up-close, but it certainly helps. EX Forceballs after a F+3,3 is a frametrap for Cage, gives some chip damage and allows Johnny to continue with the pressuring.
Johnny Cage will need Meter to get close to a keepaway opponent, using his Eclipse Kick (EX Shadow Kick). I prefer not spend Meter on any of Johnny's Enhanced specials, and instead use the Meter for breakers and his X-Ray. Using Meter on his X-Ray is risky, as you are not granted a for-sure counter on the opponent. Use it if the opponent is trying to pressure you or if you are a Force-Sensitive individual.

---------

There are many tactics and strategies for using each characters' given Super Meter. How do you like to use the Super Meter gifted to you? Or maybe you would like to know if there are any better ways to manage your Meter?

Agreed with Sektor. I mostly use his meter for enh. TU and enh. up-missile (good for pressuring or when opponent is near death).

Cage players like to use meter at the start of the round. They will wait for the opponent to make a move and hit them on reaction with his enh. shadow kick. This way they push the opponent towards the corner and if the Cage player manages to start their pressure game the opponent won't have a bar of meter to break.

I mostly play as Kitana and most of my meter is used for breakers. She can deal lots of damage with no meter (~45% from a f2, 1 string and ~35% from a 2, 1 string if hit confirmed into a lift). A lot of Kitana players will use one bar of meter to hit confirm her 2, 1 string into enh. fan toss and from there they will dash cancel the 2nd fan and continue to combo for a 45-50% damage combo. If you connect a cutter (d, f+2) on a grounded opponent and they have little life left, you can chip them out by doing the 1, 1, 2 ~ enh. cutter string. Sometimes I go for enh. cutter after a f4, 1 string as the opponents usually expect just a regular cutter or no cutter at all so this one catches them by surprise. Very rarely I also use one bar of meter for enh. fan lift, either on wake-up (though it's a risk as it hits high) or instead of the regular lift to make sure I don't drop the juggle combo. Before my pad started malfunctioning I was also working on canceling d1 into enh. fan lift as it is a good method for punishing Mileena's enh. tele-kicks. I pretty much never use enhanced pretty kicks and very rarely enhanced square boost.

Very nice thread.

I use Kabal's meter for mostly breakers, and EN Nomad Dash. The good part about his en dash is that it has a couple of frames of armor, which means he can go through projectiles/pressure. EN buzzsaw, gas blast, and tornado slam are pretty useless. They can be useful for extra damage, but in reality they don't do much.
