About Me

My third tournament was last Sunday, I ended in fifth place. Really good experience and the people here are now playing very well.

My first fight was Raiden vs Noob, easy fight, I won 2-0.

Second one was Cyber Sub/Noob vs Reptile, I struggle too much against him, I lost 0-2.

Third fight was Raiden vs Ermac, very tight fight, I won 2-1.

Here is the video.

Fourth was Raiden/Quan Chi vs Cyrax/Kung Lao, I had Quan prepared in case I fought a Kung Lao, I won 2-1.

Fifth was Raiden vs Cyrax, again very tight, I lost 1-2.

I'm satisfied with my level considering I only train against the CPU. The only time I have fought people offline have been in the three tournaments I have participated. Because of that I lack matchup knowledge.

Here are the characters for each place:

1st: Kung Lao
2nd: Mileena
3rd: Reptile
4th: Cyrax
5th: Raiden
5th: Mileena

Thanks for sharing and congrats!

You seem to use Raiden's enh. lightning quite a lot. I'm not too familiar with Raiden, any specific reason behind that?

Congratulations! You beat a Kung Lao with Quan Chi? I remember beating a KL with Quan, many weeks ago. I had Quan's rune trap to thank for that win, I used it at the end of round 2 and 3.

Thanks!

I use ex lightning for all purposes, close and far pressure and anti wakeup pressure against some characters.

As you can see it can be stopped by poking, for that reason I try to not use it frequently up close, but sometimes people will try a jump in expecting me to use d3 or teleport after the string and they will fall for the lightning.

Far away I will use it to stop the opponent from block dashing too much.

Vs some wake ups it will stop them, it costs a bar so I think I shouldn't be doing it everytime.

It was some experimenting I wanted to do in the tournament since I've only practiced it against the CPU and was curious to see if it was effective or not.

Oh and I went by Lord Shinnok because of my PSN id tongue

Thanks man, yes I beat a Kung Lao with Quan. I stayed defensive and used the uppercut whenever he teleported or jumped in and skulls for zoning. My opponent didn't know how to approach so he started zoning, that's when I used trance and then rune trap.

No problem. Thanks for sharing your anti-KL strategy. Whenever I play, I seem to forget that the uppercut exists, I keep thinking it's an unsafe move. I'll have to use it a little more.

Ah, I see.

Yeah, when not experimenting, I'd probably only go for it when having all 3 bars of meter. However, on the other side, I think I personally have a problem of being too protective of my meter. I sometimes end up losing matches with all 3 bars left and then I slap myself for not being more aggressive with meter usage.

I like getting to see international play and it's great to see some MKO players mix it up and you did well (YAY!!!).

I remember our more recent match ups on PSN, dear god aggressive Raiden is scary lol.

The Ermac and Raiden match up is interesting, I haven't seen much of it oddly enough.

I liked how you did your spacing in this match up as well, for the most part you stayed out of Ermac's range for space control and I like the Enhanced lightning to keep people in check.

As for the CPU, I found the CPU's psychic clairvoyance has helped with patience for me, but I gotta say doing well at a tournament with mostly cpu experience is really great work.
