Unbelievably two twin brothers in the finals! One mains Sektor and the other Cyrax.
Safety disabled, Family feud engage! Also this is the 3/4 place match, which incredibly for a tournament ends in a BABALITY!!

I love the expression "taking the piss." I'm stealing that.
Great commentary and great matches. I won't spoil who won, but if you play either of the cyborgs, you owe it to yourself to watch this match.
It's no wonder those guys are good at the game, though. They probably don't have to work much considering all the royalty checks they get for playing in "The Matrix Reloaded."

I think British guys should commentate all tourneys from now on.
Also bumb for interest, can't believe more people have not been in here.

Wow! That was incredible. Sektor and Cyrax are my two mains so it's amazing to watch people who actually know what they're doing. Those Cyrax combos were incredible, and it almost felt like no two were the same.
Sektor was pretty interesting to watch too, I figured he'd string together some longer combos. He seemed methodical in slowly wittling the opponent down rather. Definitely taking some notes from this!

Yeah, it looks that way, but that combo is actually a little bit tricky--cancelling to Bicycle Kick after 4 reps can be a little bit of a pain.

Honestly, I don't know how he does that. The input on the bicycle is unbelievably strict. If I ever mained Liu, I think I'd have to switch to pad.

Yea man, Cyrax is so awesome to play with. You could honestly come up with a new combo every day it seems. Check out another thread further down in wich I posted some amazing Cyrax (and Jax) combos. Sektor definitley seems like more of a keep-away character.Similair to Noob in a lot of ways, just more balanced and much more dangerous up close than him.
@Temp; What controller are you currently using? I am interested in how many good players use pad for MK, seems about 50/50. When playing Street Fighter etc it is about 95/5 to stick. I play stick myself and it would be weird for me switching to pad, plus it is near impossible to get a decent pad where I live.

I use a TE stick for MK. Believe it or not, I'm actually a 360 pad player for SFIV, but I'm trying to transition into a stick. Not going so smoothly. What I did was use the d-pad strictly for dashing and use the analog stick for any other motion. FADCing is a bit awkward, but I got use to it. Nonetheless, I really want to go 100% stick for AE.
The reason I suggest pad for Liu is because double tap motions are easier on a PS3 pad. With a stick, you have to make sure the actual stick somewhat returns to neutral before the second forward or back input. That's not a problem with pad fortunately. I mean, it's very doable on a stick, and I can do them cleanly with two exceptions:
1) Liu's Bicycle kick. To successfully do this move, you have to make sure the stick successfully returns to neutral three times. Doing this in combos is just insane in my eyes.
2) Kabal's diagonal-up diagonal-up jump-cancel fire ball when he's on the right of his opponent. When on I'm on the left of my opponent, I can use my thumb for a double-flick, but on the right, I have to completely take my hand off the stick and do this awkward wrist-twist double flick. It's strange and I haven't been very successful yet. Technically, I could just use my forearm movement, but that's unbelievably uncomfortable and has a low success rate.
I think stick is good for this game, but SF players will have to change they're philosophy a little. The Daigo grip might not be the best form (which is what I use).

Daigo uses the "no homo" grip correct? (oh god, guys on this site will all complain about it now) My advice would be to switch to stick for SF immediatley. My execution has gone up probably 100% since I made the switch. Things like a surijuken-motion and all the 1/4 circles are just so much better on stick. Out of interest, I think you and I must be the only people to use the "sometimes pad, sometimes analog" technique on the Xbox controller.
If I had to give anyone advice wrt using a stick in MK, I would say to use quite a 'loose" grip. Don't try to move the stick back to neutral yourself, rather just tap it in the directions you want it to go and let the spring do the work to get it back to neutral for you, giving you time to adjust your hand to go to the next direction required. (as I said I have a fairly loose grip, my hand does not stay in one postion throughout. I also have years of guitar playing behind me, which apparently helps since it gives you really good finger independance and quick wrist, lol)
