Sorry for the delay, guys. There are more vids to come, but the uploads are taking forever, so I decided just to post what I have now and upload the rest tomorrow.

The first set is with Fill Pops. Unfortunately, it cuts off at the end, but he ultimately took the set. And before anyone asks, here's a embarrassing disclaimer: I did not know the shadow clones were parry-able projectiles. For some reason, I thought the engine registered the clones as normals. "But why didn't you test this?" I thought I did. I could swear that I did. We even have a guy who mains noob here in Corpus. This is pretty indefensible on my part.

That aside, I'm pretty happy with my performance. I was nervous and had zero practice prior to landing in Vegas, but that was true of almost everyone at Evo. Huge respect to Fill Pops and all my other opponents.

Hehe, maybe for some reason you mixed it up with Nightwolf since he can't reflect the clones. Those kind of things are really odd in MK.

I like the setup you did in round 3 of game 2. You finished a combo with an uppercut, followed it up with a whiffed tele-punch and finished it off with a throw. Very nice.

Shame you didn't take full advantage of the aa2 that you caught him with in round 2 of game 1, might have gotten you the round. Not sure how much damage Smoke can get off of aa2.

You did well, Tempy. As you said, you had zero practice prior to playing. Adding to that, the sounds of hype were probably getting to you at some points.

Dude, I LOVED that corner combo you did where you ended it in an uppercut, knocking them out of the corner, and then teleported to the other side of him and threw him back in the corner. I thought you were just going for max damage or had accidently hit upper cut, but you turned it into a nice set up. Had I been the other player I wouldn't have expected that. I didn't even know an uppercut granted Smoke enough time to teleport.

And yeah using Shake more would have made a difference for sure, but he seemed like the type of player who would teleport throw that shit on reaction. Also his up close pressure with Noob was pretty fuckin good, especially for Noob. I know his up knee gives him advantage on block, although it varies depending on what distance it hits you at, but it seemed like he was able to check you with some clones that way or sometimes a JIP. Pretty cool strategy.

Anyway I'm lookin forward to seeing the others.

That's a good point. That may have been where I got the impression from.

Thanks. smile It's not the ideal Smoke corner combo, but I didn't want to go for my corner bnb since I hadn't warmed up at all.

There's a lot of stun deterioration after an anti-air standing 2 into smoke bomb, so I usually can't get more than one juggle + air throw afterwards. It's about 26% damage. I believe other Smoke players go for the reset after a jab anti-air, but I'm also sure there are better potential combos I just haven't figured out yet. At the time of Evo, my jab anti-air was still a work-in-progress.

The lack of practice definitely effected my confidence, but the background hype was actually pretty cool. smile That's one of the huge blessings of having a local scene. You get accustomed to the noise and mild trolling, and after a while you sorta begin to feed off it. Also, the tournament itself provided noise-cancelling head phones for people who weren't into it, and that was also pretty cool.

However, there was a lot of heckling at Evo. I don't understand that stuff at all. Hype is one thing, but having your friends try to psyche people out is just ridiculous. I don't know who would want to win like that.

Thanks. smile Smoke's oki setups have kinda been over-exposed, but the uppercut-into-whiffed-teleport can still be an effective gimmick. It's not his best corner option, but I didn't wanna risk screwing up something fancier.

I actually talked to with Fill Pops a little bit after the match and I brought up him punishing my Smoke bombs with tele-slam and how crazy that was. He told me that he wasn't visually reacting to the animation but instead to the sound of my buttons. That is one of the few banes of playing stick, lol. Cool guy, btw.

The shake would have helped me a lot on wake-up. But at least I can plead ignorance regarding Noob. I have no excuses against Cyber-Sub, lol. I cracked hard in that set.

That though is not nice. Shame it happens. Aren't there judges around to supervise matches?

I've heard about people reacting to the sounds of buttons coming from their opponents. I was like "WTF?!" when I first heard about it. Quite stunning!

I checked out the new pair of matches. Hehe, that CSZ X-ray finish was really nice for him. tongue
