Noticed a lot of people complaining about her face. I did a little editing and it makes a little difference. I still think she looks way better in MK9 than she did in both MKvsDCU and MK:DA.

Honestly, no, it's not practical. It's yet another fan service costume. I NEVER thought I would say this, but I long for the days of her MKDA alternate. I really don't want to go down this road again like we did pre-release, because I'd like to think I've said my piece on this issue, but how can the majority of you guys think that this is a good look for her? What's the point of giving her dog tags when the rest of her screams Pamela Anderson? She is a member of a military organization, and she should look the part. She's looked the part ONCE, being her MKDA alternate, and I'd bet a large sum of money that the bulk of you dislike that outfit because you can't see any jugs.

But it doesn't matter. Everyone knows that I'm wasting my time by making this post. Because it's never going to change. It's always going to be about T&A and nothing more with the female characters in this series. They would do well to take a page out of Square Enix's book, as Lightning is a more compelling character than any of the females in this game and she isn't very sexualized at all.

The render is really great, but i don't use her second outfit ingame, because it is so lame. I don't like it. I wish they gave her her MK3 outfit back. It's a classic :)

It's entirely practical with some fan-servicey sex-appeal thrown in. This clearly isn't her "uniform". It's probably what she wore around base on hot days/days off. I've seen tough girls in tank tops before (albeit, ones that covered their midriffs, but hey, Sonya's always showed her belly) and I see absolutely nothing out of character with this pic.

I dislike her MKDA alternate because it was horrendously unattractive. Frumpy, poorly coloured and just ugly as ugly can be. Whereas her default in that, clearly put her where she's meant to be... in a fantasy style, sci fi GI-Joe-esque miltary outfit. She's not front line combat, and isn't restricted by the strictures of a normal uniform.

Her primary is her tactical outfit, or so i choose to believe. I also pretend in my head she has flat boots and a shirt under her vest in her primary because then it would be perfect. In doing so, that leaves her alternate just what it is... "alternate". It's something different. It's sexy, it's cute. She could easily fight in it and frankly I think she looks BEYOND badass with those aviators.

....um....you don't see jugs in her Primary either. Yeah, her breast are noticably big, but so as in her Alternate.
I didn't like her alternate because it didn't appeal to me. It had NOTHING to do with breast.
It was majorly the character model itself that I had a problem with and the color of the clothing didn't help. I even hated both her costumes.

Primary:
The lower body portion was just plain as fuck. Her MK4 Lower Body was more "busy" than her MKDA attire.
In MKDA, plain black tight pants. If her plain as hell boots wasn't a different shade of black, that shit would had blended with her plain as hell pants. And really? A thong?

I only like the top because it was still sticking to her color theme. Green and White. While the black pants was also part of the formula but it didn't help for this attire.

Alternate: Really? Long dominatrix heels? Oh yeah, that's screams a fighting military woman. The color of the outfit didn't appeal to me. If you really think about, even in your precious love for that outfit, they're still showing fan service. It's called "Flesh color". Given that it's not close to the character model's skin color, but let's not kid ourselves.

I hate her Primary. Her just wearing a vest and nothing under it, this is coming from a straight man, but even I find that ridiculous. And what the hell is with the physics of her dog tags during her fighting stance? It does not match the pace of her movement. Again, plain lowerbody.

There's concept art of her primary, it's green with accessory on her legs. That would had looked so much better than what it does now.

I love her Alternate because it reminds me of other characters. Her look from the second MK movie. Lara Croft. Sarah Conner from Terminator. Also the glasses and hat hiding most of her face. I'm not one to cry "man face", but it's just something about her eyebrows that I do not like.

So there you go.

It's a simple but nice render (the nipple- rolls eyes). Her face looks better in the game, imo. One thing I really like about MK2011 Sonya are her eyes, really really pretty. Her hair is very nice too- bad hair art is less visible on her blond hair than on dark hair (other characters) in this game. The hair is generally awful in this game, Sonya gets away though 'cause it's blond, short and in a ponytail- chances for fuck up are minimal.

As for her alt costume, well I think it's OK, I just wish her tits were smaller and her shirt longer. Her primary would have been better if she had a simple shirt under the vest and got rid of those incredibly stupid high heels- whenever I see her running in those boots in her intro, I really can't help but laugh. Add the shirt, remove the heels and it would have been the best Sonya ever. MK4 Sonya still remains my favorite.

As I've said numerous times before, the female costumes in this game are really disappointing, the only exception would be Sindel as I have no real complaints about either of her costumes. I look at Ermac, Stryker, Sektor and some other male designs and I'm blown away with details and awesomeness and then I take a look at most of the female costumes and just can't help but shake my head, really really lame.

You gotta remember. She HAS to have a suit in which her stomach is shown. It's been like that for Sonya since day one. No one, should expect any change in that.

And as for comparing male to female attire, that is a bad mistake, that's why you're disappointed. You're better off just comparing Sindel to the rest of how the other female characters looked.

If a woman of her size naturally had those breasts, she'd be in the book of world records. It'd be like Johnny Cage with a 16 incher flopping around.

I'd be fine with her assets bouncing around if they were at least HUMAN SIZE. To me, it's actually kind of disrespectful to this strong female icon to give her gigantic fake breasts that are nearly as big as watermelons. It's pretty sexist, to me. I don't like it.

I'll always love Sonya though, and I'll continue pwning people online as her.

1) The costume is supposed to be a more casual look for the character. It fits her well. Despite the little SF nods which are just that, simple fun nods (dog tags + badge), its a very well rounded casual look that makes her stand out. It's supposed to be casual. That's what most people get from it, anyways.

2) I too love her MKDA alt which was awesome. And actually, you'd be very surprised at how many people do dig that costume. It's actually pretty well liked. If there is one thing I'd change is the beret (not that I hate it, but, I've had enough of it. She looks better with a hat).

I'm particularly loving the bangs. It's one of the things that really do it for me. They've done some very distinctive and stylish bangs on Sonya and I hope they keep that up for the future games.

As for this costume, this alternate is my favorite Sonya costume ever. Followed closely by MKvsDC Sonya. Then MK2011 Primary.

I think having her show her stomach is a sexy trademark of hers that has been there since day 1. I see no reason why that should be changed. Regarding her boobs, well, the same could be said about the rest of the females (though it does appear that Sonya's are just the biggest).

Of course I agree everyone's breasts in this game look unnatural and literally "blown out of proportion", but, what I also said was that I don't really mind that.

Sonya's breasts keep getting bigger in each game, you are right, I just don't seem to mind it as long as it doesn't reach the point where it looks repulsive in my eyes. It's cool.

Sonya's costumes aren't really that great. Yes they do fit her character pretty well, with the exception of the high heels. But in general they are kinda lacking. They do look good and work for her, they just don't strike me as amazing. Maybe if she was slightly more covered.

Yet we are too picky on Kitana's, she looks amazing, the most beautiful model MK has ever had... lmao. Sis goodbye.
