MK Supplement in September PSM
As several readers have pointed out, the September issue of PSM Magazine has an 8-page tear-out "Mortal Kombat Supplement".  It makes for a very interesting read - it not only goes over all the Mortal Kombat games, but mentions the movies, tv shows, CD's, and comics as well.  Their MK: Deadly Alliance section finally sheds some light on "Test Your Sight" - it is described as involving "keeping your eye on a shuffling object".  Also, according to PSM, players will be allowed to place bets on which fighter will win and earn "kurrency".  The kurrency or token system will allow to you unlock hidden characters, backgrounds, and extra features.  One last thing the article tells us is the fact that there will be special moves specific to a certain fighting style.  Hopefully, certain trademark moves will be universal to all the different fighting styles.  Time will tell on this one.

Besides the supplement, there's a comic strip in the magazine which pokes fun at the many ninjas in MK Trilogy.  They also mention that Deadly Alliance is due "this month" (meaning September) which we all know by now not to be true - the last we heard, Midway expected it to be on the shelves November 18.

Back to the mag - we recommend all serious Mortal Kombat fans pick this up!  Not just for the MK: DA info, but for the rest of the supplement as well.

Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance Print Ads Now in Circulation
If you pick up the August 2002 issue of Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine you can find the first print ad for MK: Deadly Alliance.  The ad does confirm a Fall 2002 release, not winter as being reported by some websites.  Although no real new information about or screenshots of the game are given in the ad, it does mention that we can look forward to "brutal new Fatalities". You can expect to see more print ads in the coming months as the game comes to completion.
New MK:DA Screenshots at Gamespot - Raiden Revealed!
GameSpot has updated with six new screenshots from the Playstation 2 version, two of which featuring the previously-unseen in-game version of Raiden! This time around, Raiden appears to have taken a page from his movie/TV counterpart, for he sports long white hair, with his trademark hat hanging onto his back, and his original jumpsuit replaced by robes and sandals. Whether this is his original costume or an alternate is not known.

Due to copyright restrictions, we are not linking directly to the images. To see these new in-game screenshots, click here.

MK:DA Official Site Update: Mavado Bio Revealed!
The official Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance website has updated with the biography of the mysterious Mavado! According to his bio, Mavado is a member of the Red Dragon, a rival clan to the Black Dragon, who has allied with Shang Tsung and Quan Chi in order to face Kano in Mortal Kombat.

For more information (including screenshots), go to the official website here, and select the Characters section.

Exclusive screenshots featuring THREE unseen characters!
We have been provided with three exclusive and previously unseen in-game shots from Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance! The first two feature Drahmin and Kano (with Kano fighting in the style "Xing Yi", which had not been shown before), fighting in a large indoor (possibly underground) stone arena, surrounded by monks or shadow priests. The third features Kung Lao wearing a kung fu jumpsuit and long hair in a ponytail as an alternate costume using the newly revealed style "Praying Mantis", fighting against Kitana in what almost looks like a circular arena high in the air.

Also visit TRMK which has three more exclusive screenshots available.

Deadline for the MK Team interview came. A Huge Success!
The deadline of submissions for our e-mail based interview with the Mortal Kombat Development Team has now come and gone. We are very pleased with all of the entries! (well over two hundred emails)  Please be patient while our staff reviews all of the submitted questions as we pick the top twenty which will be answered by the MK team themselves! There is no set timeline for when questions and answers will be posted, as we are sure the development team is quite busy finishing Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. However, when they become available we will post them immediately.
Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance gets delayed
Midway has posted on their web page that Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, previously scheduled to ship September 22, has been delayed until the first half of the 4th quarter (meaning October or early November).  GameSpot has posted an article stating that it's been delayed until December, but don't worry - they were probably just confused by the wording on Midway's web site (and had some confusing words of their own).  Because of this, we have pulled the link to the GameSpot article, but you can still access Midway's Press Release by clicking here.
