A rare game I've had for quite a while.

http://youtu.be/qiPT5m_6ewo
A lot of pirate games back in the day had either spelling errors or name changes, not to mention the cheap shortcuts, n bad programming. Reminds me of various mugen projects having character bios n story screens with horrendous English.

Perhaps I would've tried it if I was younger. Almost wish I came across it. Would've been frustrating trying to figure out moves. Probably be pissed at the lack of Chun Li or Ryu/Ken too. Not the first time I've seen characters on the cover that aren't in the damn game, lol.

Thanks for the vid, good to see you're still active.

Thanks, I've been pretty busy with real-life stuff for a while (I've got two Master's degrees now) so finally returning back to the Mortal Kombat community. I've posted another review, this time of Mortal Combat 5/Mortal Kombat Mythologies for the 16-bit Sega:

I've seen vids of that played before. The enemy choices were wtf, and angering.
The simplified stages were... I dunno. The spriting kommunity can, and has made better games.

If I made this with existing MK kharacters, I'd use Kung Lao in the missing Wind Temple, Jax in the Earth Temple, Liu Kang in Fire, maybe Kano n Kabal in Netherrealm. I probably would've done some sprite editing to at least try to make them different or something.

It was probably made before the sprite resources available in the last 10 years or so.
Looks like it plays well, just some of the design choices are disappointing.

I've been trying to get it for years, and I finally managed to track it down - Mortal Kombat Mythologies Gold 2000 for the SNES. This opportunity doesn't come up often.

Not sure if you're saying you don't recognize 'cause you forgot what I look like, or 'cause I look so much older now!

Thanks!

My latest one is about The Dragon - a Bruce Lee game which uses Liu Kang as a stand-in:

That MK5 2000 review was great. You had some nice jokes in it. Maybe I'll watch the other versions sometime. I'm glad you dumped that rom too. Hope it gets out there.

Watched the MK4/3 Famicom video, it's pretty good. You are good at this. I also watched the video where you tried to do the EJB menu on the jacks specific plug n play.sleep

Thanks for the feedback! I can't take credit for dumping the ROM, it was some South American team I believe that worked on that, but I'm just glad it's out there.

These pirate games are fun because they offer a new way to experience MK, a fresh take on the franchise.
