Well now that I've gotten the game to work (thanks, guys!), I was just wondering if anyone's screwed around with MKT and come up with hacks or anything like that. I'm not sure if it's even a screw-aroundable game, but it's be pretty cool if it was. I heard about something for MK4 that increases the polygon count, so I was wondering if anyone had finicked with MKT.

One thing I do know is that you can hack in your own sound effects... there are a lot of SFX that are just .WAV files, so it's a simple matter to just replace them with the sound effects of your choice. A lot of character specific sounds are in a weird format, but I've been able to extract them so I'd imagine one could replace them.

Anyways so are there any MKT hacks, besides just changing the sound effects?

I just got MKT for PC working again so I was actually going to fiddle around with it. I opened some of the files in a hex editor and many of them contain what looks like commands just listed without much encoding or anything, so I will probably screw around with them and see if anything cool could happen.

If there are any good programmers looking at it, I'd personally request a new video mode added to it that allowed for stretching to a higher res with some blurring done. That stuff makes MKT for PSX look fantastic played on the computer and makes a lot of arcade games pretty hot looking too.

I wish they hadn't made MKT for PC so low res.

I'd love to create an orange ninja for the game. His name would be... "Orange". His fatality would be peeling the skin off his victim, strip by strip. Starting at the top. Ha ha ha - geddit? Ah, I'm lame.

Cool about the customizable SFX. Maybe I can get rid of those godawful stock screams and replace them with some gritty ones. Or better yet, porno wavs...

So far all I've managed to do was remove charactr graphics entirely. I editted some paths in the exe file and made the robot ninjas disappear :) oh well. I've been working my way through the file editting at regular intervals. When I get down to the long lists of commands I might start to get better stuff.

I was trying to extract the graphics from the game a while back. Everything was in black and white and peices missing. I couldn't figure it out so i gave up.
