I'm pretty much on MKAK all the time(XBOX 360) but the only way your fighting skills will improve is if you KEEP fighting the jugglers, run jabbers, infiniters, ect. Then again, playing noobs will SLIGHTLY improve your game but continuously playing experts/masters will improve your deadly skills dramatically. For example, the majority of noobs are jumpers so you can bait your opponents with aa Hks,aa Roundhouses,aa HP spear or aa HP flying kick. When fighting experts/masters,you MUST switch up your fight plans,For example, odds are that your higher ranking opponent will not jump at you and rather bait you into jumping into an anti air attack so patience and LUCK must be on your side.

Okay, here's a few more tips to improve your skill. But remember! always switch up your tactics or your opponent will eventually figure you out.

When in close kombat, throw a couple or a few jabs then sweep the leg.Another jab tactic I like (but it's more complex) isjab, jab, pause jabbing whileyour opponent is crouching and blocking, wait a second or two then POW! see if you can wake him/her up with a roundhouse.Or jab, jab, pause, knee kick ect.Do not abuse jabbing though because they can easily crouch kick, sweep,or uppercut you.

Distant kombat usually results in anti air attacks and projectile zoning so if thats not your thing then your best bet is to cautiously go in for close kombat.

It all depends which MK game your playing.

Mortal Kombat(uber slow turtle kombat)
Mortal Kombat II(slightly faster turtle kombat)
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (hyper speed cheetah kombat)

IMO Since MK and MK II are slower it's more defensive than offensive however UMK3 is very fast paced and you have to be on your toes every second.I'm not a MK master like EWASHOCK or Psykosonik but bottom line...fight masters...not noobs. You're skill will build up much faster learning from mistakes from your sensai.

appreciate the feed back. unfortunately im on ps3 so i can't play you. yeah your right about MK and MK2 being more about defense and turtling. i seem to do better at those because im good at cracking peoples shells before they put together an offensive. mk3 i have a much harder time with. jugglers and rushers kick my ass every time lol.

the problem im having is that when i fight someone really good they tire of me after a couple matches and leave so not much time to learn anything and fighting the comp doesn't really help cauze the strats are obviously different and you can't manipulate real players like you can the comp.

You dont realize how bad you are until you go online. I thought I was pretty good, since all of my friends are horrible. I use to beat people at the arcade in my hometown and had some good runs out of town on vacations. But playing these dudes online is insane. They are just making me look like I just started playing. sad
