I know MK4 was not every fans favorite MK, but it was one of mine. I loved it. Played every version of MK4 there is (PSX, N64, PC, and I even have MKGold on Dreamcast), but the Arcade version is still superb IMO. I really hope Midway makes a port of the arcade version of it in Midway Arcade Treasures 4....

That includes Ultimate MK3 too... and "The Grid" wink

We can only hope they keep reproducing the games on new systems. Perhaps we'll start to see games like MK4 emulated on the next gen systems since it doesn't look like the current gens would be able to do it. They could obviously handle the game if it was ported over but I dont see that happening.

Its a shame that even MAME doesnt have working support for MK4 yet. I guess the fact that it was on such unique hardware makes community emulation of it that much harder.

MK4 is actually supported in MAME and has been dumped, however the game itself lacks sound which doesn't make it playable quite yet. I've been waiting for it to be finished, but even when it is, no computer available today would be able to run that game at a decent speed.

Yeah, thats pretty much exactly what I meant when I said mame doesn't have working support for MK4. It can load up the ROM but it is not playable.

Mortal Kombat 4? Not really. The Arcade, I played it a few months ago is just hard for me to look at. I don't think that MK 4 will be lost to history. I do think that the genius at Midway will find a way to bring it to a treasures collection. The game sold well back in 1997 and I bet a lot of people would dig an arcade quality port.
