Well.. I'm gonna list the pros and cons of each one...
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
+The beginning with Liu Kang meditating
+Good narration
+Liu Kang' s death was depicted perfectly. Whether you like him or hate him, it was definately one of MK's more shocking moments.
+Shao Kahn's helmet hitting the ground all bloody
-Raiden's voice, while better than in the other games, was a bit too deep
-Was a bit blurry at times (then again this could just be my copy)
-I don't know, it's probably just me, but the whole part where you see a flash of Scorpion "others seek vengeance" that implies that he was using the tournament for an evil purpose...
Mortal Kombat: Deception
+Raiden vs. the Deadly Alliance rocked
+Music, particulary when Raiden was about to blow himself up
+Onaga's entrance
+Lead-in was good
-I know they were short on time, but Quan Chi kicked Shang Tsung's ass a bit too easily.
-"No, it cannot be!" I don't know, I think it was just Quan Chi's corny sounding voice.
-If Shang Tsung's souls were released, how come you don't see any of them?
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks
+Great fights.
+Liu Kang's Flying Kick.
+/-Goro's entrance, but it would've been better storywise if he wasn't there.
+Sub-Zero's spine rip.
+Music
+MORTAL KOMBAT! (The yell)
-Scorpion. He got his ass kicked too easily and what the hell was up with him jumping through the portal to Outworld?
-Reptile, why is he going through the portal one minute and back on the island the next.
-Why did Kano punch Sub-Zero?
-Kung Lao saving Liu Kang
Over all, they were all very good.

TheProphet, GGs my friend. Give'em Hell.

MKDA's was good due to the mutiple scenes, and lots of background info. This was a negative for me in both MKD's and MKSM's, that although fantastic, they left out too much by focusing on the one scene - I mean in MKD, where was the scene of Kung Lao, Jax, Sonya, Cage, Kitana etc. getting beat down by the DA?
Anyways, if I were too pick one of the 3, I'd go with Shaolin Monks. It is the one that left me with the most shocked impression, and most importantly - they really brought back so much nostalgia from MK1.
The best bits:
- The MK scream (though they shoulda used the one from the original MK1 commerical.
-All the fights going on simultaneously
-Liu Kang bike kicking off the guard's staff
-Shang morphing into Kano and using the cannonball
-KUNG LAO's ENTRANCE! (Honestly, how cool was that?)
-evil original Sub Zero kicking ass, then ripping out the guard's spine, then using it to smack Scorpion - lol.
-Shang using Scorp's toasty fatality
-Liu's flying kick (only cus that's how he supposedly beat Shang, according to the MKII intro)
- Goro's entrance, the fact that he is finally portrayed as being absolutely HUGE, and his subsequent laying the smack down on everyone.
So yeah, MKSM was my fave, but I really liked MK4/G's as well. It's so understated, but with the Wind Realm being one of my fave stages in the game, combined with Raiden's great speech and the pouring rain + lightning, really makes it a cool intro - really captured the theme of the game. Oh, and I like how it's only slightly adapted from the MKMSZ intro as well

Where can I find the MK4 intro?
In the PSX or PC versions of MK4, or in MK Gold
Nah, I'll look around - most sites have the endings for DL but not the intro movie...
Where can I find the MK4 intro?
Here is the FMV intro of MK4/MKG and here you can get the real-time intro of N64's MK4.
As for the topic, my choice is the MK:D's intro. I was disappointed when I saw the quality of MK:DA's intro, 'cause I was hoping to see intro of Tekken FMVs quality for example, but unfortunately it was far from it. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw MK:D's intro. Just take a look at both intros and compare Shang Tsung characters. Moreover, Deception's intro has this intimidating feeling, which has surrounded you since the first shots and the words: "Raiden's Earthrealm champions had failed to stop the Deadly Alliance...". It was a nice turn after watching MK:DA's endings. There are other advantages of this intro, too. For instance: action of the 'Raiden vs Deadly Alliance' fight and this invulnerable image of Onaga. It was a pleasure to watch that intro, especially because I didn't want to and hadn't seen it until the game came out. And it's still a pleasure to watch it from time to time.
But I like other intros, too. MK:DA's has a good story (famous Liu Kang's plot turn) and MK:SM is all about the nice action. I have to mention Kung Lao's entrance, too. It was really cool combined with the announcer saying his name.
And what the fuck. How the hell Shang Tsung gonna get his ass back up after Quan Chi killed him. These muthafuckas don't know how to die.

2nd. MKDA
3rd. MKD
But IMO, I still preferred the simplistic 'Raiden Narration' of MK4. Where the camera pans around him as he talks of the war with Shinnok. Thats still my favourite. I dunno why...
If you take the kind of technology was available at the time of creation I would say the MK4 intro. It was simple to the point great sound affects and didn't try to overload us with special effects. Also, unless I'm mistaken the first MK game that we heard the intro being told to us rather than just shown. It also wasn't an attempt at a mini-movie.
However, not taking into account the technology I would say MK:D intro. The story being told to us was only the background the real show was the fight between three powerful beings. A few things I didn't like was the fact that Raiden had to do a little dance whenever he tried to use his powers, damn Shujinko breaking in ever few seconds and the fact they took out a certain line:
Quan Chi: (Looking at Raiden with a panic look while sending chi attacks towards the Dragon King) What are you doing?!
Raiden: (Summoning a ball of lighting) You don't want to know.
What I did like was the Dragon King's entrance and the way his army knew automatically who was their boss no matter who held the medallion.
MK:SM was a close second, but I didn't really like the idea that the tournament that should have had the fighters go one on one turn into a free for all. Besides, Raiden (as a mortal) should have been in the ring too since he was also a taking part in the tournament as well...not just an advisor. It looked great and seeing the old MK arena in 3D was nice but it just didn't draw me in as much as the fight scene in MK:D.
