My list of which "real" MK games I liked best.
1. MKDA: the only problem was the one fatality per character...but everything is AWESOME in this game.
2. MK2: one of the most memorable in the series. It did everything better than the first..plus, can you say Baraka?!?!?!
3. MK1: the game that started it all..I'll never forget the first time i played it. I was blown away.
4. MK4: Good game. I loved Quan Chi and how the game got back to the darker tone.
5. MK3: The game was good but could have been better. Some characters were kinda lame..but at least it had Sektor and Cyrax...
Now show me your list

I'll name all my favorites, from every MK game.
1)MK4/MK Gold. No matter how many times I play this game, it seems to be very fun. Every time the fight is different, and the Fatalities are okay too. The bonebreakers make this game memorable to me.
2)MKII. I liked the idea that some of the fighters had hidden finishers, and special moves, and some fighters had more than two finishers. Excellent sequel.
3)UMK3. I love all the hidden things they planted into the game.
4)MK1. Can't go wrong without placing MK1 at least in the top 5 of your list. It started it all.
5)MKT. More fighters, and hidden items. Sure it was an upgrade, but fun to play every now and then.
6)MK3. When I first say the original version of MK3, not UMK3, or MKT, the few things that stuck out were the brand new ideas. Unmasking Sub-Zero, and the cyborgs to name one thing.
7)MKM. Cool adventure game, that never gets boring on Playstation. It is like watching a movie almost.
8)MKSF. Okay, not a good game, but far better than what's on the bottom of my list that some may hate me for.
9)MKDA. Graphics were cool, but let's face it. When they changed the buttons to make it like every other fighting game out there, it got boring. Plus it is slow, and only one finisher per fighter. Most of them were some lame head crushing, or cutting off thing, and hardly any had anything real to do with the fighter's personality. At least Street Fighter kept its button config since day 1, why not MK?
I will not put MKD on here simply because we've not played it yet. It looks cool, and sounds cool from the videoes I've seen, and the Fatalities I've seen so far, are far better than MKDA. However, if the controls are the same as MKDA, I'll probably only play it to see the endings, and never touch it again.

1. UMK3 and MKT are tied. The best gameplay of any MK games really. They were almost identical in their fighting engines. But, UMK3 had better graphics and was playable in the arcades, while MKT had more characters but the graphics were smaller and there was no arcade version, so they are a tradeoff.
2. Mk2. It had the look and the music, and the everything else that gave it an awesome feel, its below UMK3/MKT though because the gameplay just wasn't as good.
3. MK1. It started it, brought about some fantastic changes in fighting games.
4. MKDA. Fun game, closer to what a 3D MK game should have been then MK4 or MKG were, but still needs a bunch of improvement.
5. MK4. Not very good as far as uniqueness between characters, gameplay, balancing and all that jazz. At the time it came out I was quite pleased with the graphics for the arcade, and there was an arcade version which is always nice.
6. MKG. Ranked lower just because they had the opportunity to make MK4 into something great but didn't, they just lazily threw in new characters and even lied on the box art about having all completely new captures for the new people, when in fact they reused tons of animation once again.
