This what I know so please don't take this as fact. Ok here it goes......
Back in the early days in the 90s alot of games like MK1-MKT,revolution X and Pit fighter used motion capture actors. When MK1 came out it was a big succuss. Thus MK2 was made and it was a even bigger success, and the motion capture actors knew tons of money was being made of MK. So they thought they should take a a peice of the pie because the way they saw it there faces and likeness were being used for like Sonya( MK1 sonya is one of many that tried to sue Midway). Like movies these motion capture actors wanted a bigger cut since they thought they had a creative role in the MK games success. Midway didn't think so , so the motion capture actors/actress( some of them) took Midway to court. I am not sure what was the outcome of the ruling, but what ever it was it ban them from being motion capture ever again at Midway. That is way there was new motion capture talent in MK3, since the law suit took place near around the MK2 days and ended before the MK3 days. Hope I helped :.l till next time.

Hahahaha...?
Sponge-Zer0 Wrote: I wonder why Ho Sung Pak was ditched by Eddie Wong in MK3. Did Ho Sung get fired too? |
Ho Sun Pak from what I got was never fired. He was asked to return to play Liu Kang in MK3, but he turned it down. He was at that time involved heavily with a tv show called Dragon Masters. It usualy comes on every Saturday on channel 28 here in Ohio. He hasn't been on in a while, but I believe he wanted to devote his full time to that show. Other actors from MK movies were also on that show. Chris Cassamassa was one of them. He portrayed Scorpion in the first MK movie.
Here is a link with an overview of the case.

I remember Ho Sung Pak being on this karate show called YMAC Masters. Was that the same thing? It was like this American Gladiators type thing, except it was all taped and edited together with like a storyline and everything.
I actually asked him about this like 9 years ago, and he basically said Hos Sung Pak was an ass - signed a contract for a one-time-payment for his acting, and then demanded royalties even though they weren't in his contract.
I don't know how the lawsuit ended - but when I was 12 and REALLY into MK, I used to think I was the shit because I met Eddie alot!
