Which characters in MK:DA do you think have the best storylines?
I can think of a few characters. I thought Nitara's was one of the greatest. It was interesting to see how she carried out a crafty plan by using Reptile and Cyrax to free her own realm from Shao Kahn. Reptile's storyline was great too. His storyline and his ending were thought out well.

I agree with u. Those storylines were awesome, and interesting. I also like the storyline 4 Kenshi. Kenshi killed Shang Tsung and got his revenge. Thats all i have 2 say.

I liked Kung Lao's he was the only one that really took oa stand for Liu Kang, but I guess none of the fighters really have much simpathy (sp?) because we all remember MK:A Sonya was the only one pissed about Johnny's death and she forgets about him 2 minutes later, anyway the rest of the stories were just so-so.

I liked them all really, but I had some minor issuse with some, like... Why or how the hell did Kenshi become a special forces agent? I mean, he just does fit IMO, I guess it could work but I need some more info. The fact that Shinnok/MK4 has been omitted from MK, this is a big one for me. MK4's storyline was great and very deep, for them to forget about it really sux. Everything else was great!! Mavado, by far, is my fav new character, but Kung Lao's story still reign's supreme.

Sub-Zero: became stronger (physically and magically) and became the leader of the new Lin Kuei clan.
Kenshi: his connection to Ermac and his future to possibly go after Mavado; not exactly a good guy or a bad guy and he has many possibiliites for his storyline
Kung Lao: he got his chance to shine by killing Shang Tsung; I think Kung Lao has potential to be the champ of MK since his ancestor used to be the champ of MK. However, I don't want his storyline to go exactly in the same direction as Liu Kang's storyline.
Frost: her mysteriousness gives her a lot of potential for many storyline directions
Reptile: although he didn't do much in MKDA, his ending allows him to step away from the usual "serve somebody" storyline to become his own boss as the Dragon King.

I liked Frost's because in the future she can either have a "redemption" storyline or one where she joins the baddies. I guess I just like the open ended storylines.
Edit: Note to self; reread post before hitting submit.

Well said, Zentile.
I forgot about Kenshi. Excellent storyline for him. I would say that he has a chance of becoming the next main character of MK now that Liu Kang is gone. He has potential as far as his storyline goes. Same with Frost, I like the fact that Frost has several possibilities for her storyline for the future of MK.

I agree with Zentile that Kung Lao's was too cliche, but I'd say the same for Kenshi; they should give the whole revenge thing a rest. It's just too overused in MK: you killed my friend/family/etc. now I'm gonna kill you. To be fair, the way they did it with Kenshi was a bit more original than what they usually do, but still, Kung Lao, Kenshi, Scorpion, Jax, Drahmin...they all want revenge on someone for something. I think Nitara's storyline really brought so much together, I mean she's involved with Reptile, and gets him involved with the special forces via Cyrax, opening the door for the SF to recruit Kenshi, coinciding with the destruction of the Outworld Investigation Agency, giving Sonya a little more of a reason to fight than the usual save the world stint, meanwhile leaving Jax to go after Hsu Hao. I mean, it's just amazing how Nitara ends up pulling the story together like that. IMO she's as big a player in MKDA as Quan and Shang or Raiden or Kung Lao, based solely on how she bridges everything.
Kenshi: I was very impressed with this character overall. A great storyline, and a very cool way of explaining his blindness in my opinion. Also adds to Shang's great character as well.
Nitara: Again, I believe these two new characters were the best additions since MK2 perhaps. As Carnage said, she 'tied' everything together, which was pretty interesting. Makes me think the MK team have alot more in store for her in MK6.
Reptile: The ending did the bulk of the work for him. He went from Kahn servent, to Nitara servent, to a possible appearance as the Dragon King. Of course, that waits to be seen, but the ending was awesome regardless.
Kung Lao: It wasn't so bad... understandable I suppose. As long as he has something more interesting to do in the future it will be fine. I don't want to see another Kang.
As for the other characters, there were some good, some not so good. Quan Chi, Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung, and Mavado had pretty great stories. But there were some characters who once again used the same tired story as in the past, such as Scorpion and Johnny Cage. That really is quite disappointing to me, considering they are two of my favorite characters. Hopefully each will receive something better in MK6.
