Kabal was one of the chosen earth warriors to fight against Shao Kahn. His face is viciously disfigured because he was brutally attacked by Shao Kahns extermination squds, whom left him for dead.

Kabal uses that mask to breathe, without it he would die.

Darth Kabal . Kabal, a member of the black dragon with Jarek and Kano, was chosen by the elder gods in MK3 to help defend Earthrealm. He was then horrificly mutilated by centaur extermination squads. Somehow (and only Midway knows where he got it), Kabal used a respirator to help him breath. after the good guys defeated Shao Kahn, Kabal turned his wicked life around and became a crime fighter to help stop his former Black Dragon brothers. then, sometime before MKDA, Mavado (a member of the RED dragon, a group devoted to making former and present black dragon members sleep with the fishes) beat the living crap out of him and took his hookswords. Kabal has a rough time with people leaving him for dead. Havik found Kabal and healed him and convinced him to start the black dragon again (why anybody would listen to a rotting corpse, I don't know). after Mavado gave the beat down to Kano, Kabal administered smackies to Mavado. Kabal got his hookswords back. woo hoo!

They shouldn't bring back that fatality because without that mask he would die in less then 5 seconds. That fatality would kill himself, but it was just a midway mistake they made.

I think people could live more than 5 secs without breathing. It takes like 5 mins before it starts to do any damage to the body. They should bring it back.
