Here is a kinda long and nostalgic post. Does anyone have favorite rumors they know or heard of in Classic MK games (and MK:DA even)? Any that you confirmed? Anyhow, I am just gonna run through some of my faves and some odd shit I discovered. Read if you want.

::MK 1::

Ermac - you all know the story, I think it only happened in certain versions as a glitch though.

Tanya (or something similar) - I remember hearing of a yellow version of Sonya that you could fight by doing something at Palace Gates stage (like double flawless). Bullshit, but brings back memories of good old arcade gossip.

Reptilian Characters glitch - (MK1 on Genesis) This I've done and it is a glitch so nothing special. What you do (now I can't recall perfectly), was fuck with settings in the DULLARD code and then try to get Reptile on Endurance matches. Reptile is the first dude you fight but the second was a fucked up Sonya, Liu Kang, or Cage, etc. I think each character had a fucked up radioactive look and if you had the fatality thing on (where everyone performs) you got to see some weird glitchy fatalities. It has been a LONG time since I've done this, but it DID work...just a glitch though. Pressing 'start' on second control while fighting them, as I recall, did nothing unlike with Reptile where it would make Scorp or Sub green until match begins.

Play as Shang Tsung/Goro (MK1 SNES) - This worked too, glitchy, game geenie code...been too long to remember how to do it or where I wrote it down at. Shang morphed automatically every 10 seconds or so and Goro froze the game up when he stomped or too much time went by.

Nimbus Terrafaux (or something) - African boxer looking guy, EGM prank probably, but still started some heat where I was then. Kind of like their April Fools Sheng Long in SF2 print WAY back in the day.

::MK 2::

Fight Keebler elves - Possibly the stupidest rumor of all time. I had heard from some dude in the arcade that in the living forest you could fight or play as the Keebler elves by doing some shit near a growling tree after some impossible combination. Stupid rumor.

Kano/Sonya transforms - apparently by using Tsung standing in front of either one you could morph into that one with some impossibly long button combination. You could fight them too apparently after double flawlesses on Smoke or Jade.

Using Smoke or Jade or Noob - same shit as Kano/Sonya transformations, weird combinations garnering rumored results.

Fight Ed or John - Someone once said you could fight Boon or Tobias, never said how just a arcade rumor.

Sub-Zero Animality - I remember something of a Polar Bear fatality (this kind of shit began the animality rumor which became fact in MK3). Still no Nudalities.

Reptile Animality - Kinda like the subbie polar bear, only turns into a giant snake and I forgot what he does. Rumor.

Jax ground smash fatality - another rumor I heard.
One guy in the arcade claimed to know how to do it so I asked him to prove it, when he got to finishing time with Jax, however ... it didn't work, he claimed he slipped his hands. Right... But I had heard this rumor from more than one person at the time.

Hook Acid Stage fatality - a popular rumor, seen various pictures, heard testimonies on the existence, but never saw it my self. I think I even had methods to do it at one time, now that I think of it, never worked...

Fight Blaze (or Flare) - I remember hearing if you did something in the living forest (don't recall what) standing in front of the guy who is tangled up in weeds you could fight Blaze (known as Flare back then) who was the half burning guy with Johnny Cage's MK2 pants on the bridge in the Pit II background.

There were countless more (like Goro tranformations), I just don't remember them all. MK2, for me at least, was the BIGGEST MK for arcade rumors. Those were the days...

::MK 3, UMK3, and Trilogy::

Nudalities - I had heard for sometime and actually saw listings of Nudalities in MK3, etc.

Johnny Cage (MK3) - I remember hearing if you did some kind of button combo or something (possibly Tsung morph) near Cage's gravestone in the graveyard stage you could use Cage (or Cage's ghost).

::MK 4::

Can't remember any rumors from MK4 time, maybe I've just gone blank on it. I'm bored and tired right now.

::MK:DA::

We all know these (Khan, Rain, Noob, etc.), no sense in posting info on them.

Anyhow, those were some of the weird and typical things I recall. For those who did read through I hope it brought back some memories or sparked some other interesting rumors. I would love hearing anyone else's rumor experiences. I think Boon once stated there is stuff in the old MKs no one has found yet. Maybe it is some of those...
