We all know the "robot-storyline" for Cyrax and Sector, the Lin Kuei decided to use their ninjas as part of their robot idea. But, what were Cyrax and Sector like BEFORE they became robots?
I mean, Sub-Zero has his freezing ablities what did Cyrax and Sector have?

I aint too sure about Cyrax but I think Sector must of had the power of fire because one of his moves was that flame-thrower. Yeah, so what he could of had that implanted into his arm - is what your probably thinking but lets just come up with some ideas of what they could of had/what we would of wanted to see them have before they became robots.

I believe Sub-Zero was the only member with powers because of his family line and all. Everyone else were just really skilled ninjas. Hence why they needed to be turned into cyborgs to catch a super-powered being such as Sub-Zero.

Cyrax shot mustard out of his hands, and Sektor shot ketchup out of his hands.

I forget the order of the cyborgs creation. Did it say that Sektor and Cyrax were created before Robo Smoke? If so, they might have been little peons in the Lin Kuei, cause why take the chance of ruining a good warrior.

Yeah. Wonder what Cyrax and Sektor were called before. I mean their names are pretty much robotic names. What human ninja is called Cyrax for christ's sake?

Anyway, I figured none of them had any powers except for Sub-Zero and family. Everyone else probably had certain skills they exceeded at. So their names were pretty much nick-names.

We do know the order. Sektor was first. It's in his MK3 bio.

Sektor and Cyrax are actually just code names for units LK-9T9 and LK-4D4. So these aren't their real names. And indeed, Sektor was the 1st one, Cyrax the 2nd and of course Smoke (LK-7T2) the 3rd one.

Well, that depends whether or not you include Hydro (from the Malibu comics) into the mix. He controlled water.

Smoke had the spear and teleport like Scorpion (take that with a pinch of salt, since he was a palette swap character).

II always thought there should be a Human Cyrax and Human Sektor, like there is a Human Smoke.

I've always thought that if Sektor was human, he would have telekenetic powers, because of the way he shoots missiles that follow the opponent.

I always thought there should be an operation to make them switch between human and cyborg- but the twist would be there human side does not know because something went wrong.

Their powers were based on moves that only machines could do, hence why they were turned into cyborgs in the first place.

Sektor's heat-seeking missiles are based on actual technology, not telekenetic powers he had before hand.

My personal opinion is that if Smoke and Sub-Zero have special powers, there is a good chance that there were others in the Lin Kuei with powers as well.

Thought it is not canon to the plot, Oniro (the grandmaster on MK: Defenders of the Realm) had some nice shape-shifting abilities that looked unique enough where you wouldn't confuse him with Shang Tsung. And as the other gentleman pointed out, Hydro (Sub-Zero's friend in the MK comics by Malibu) could control the element of water.

I never read mk comics, but I read somewhere on the net that some comisc stated that Lin Kuei had great technology before they started automating. Maybe Cyrax and Sektor used gizmos in their fighting, and when they were automated, they simply had those gizmos implanted into them to save up room and not having to carry around extra weight... For example, maybe sextor used to carry around a small bazooka or something, and cyrax had grenades with him and a net for capturing enemies or something. Then they simply implanted everything in their stomachs... Just an idea...

sub_zero_13, you could be right.
That was actually in the official MKII comic where they had the younger Sub-Zero come along and say that his older brother, Sub-Zero, was a great assassin but didn't utilize the Lin Kuei's technology even though it was available to him.

So your theory about Cyrax and Sektor having those advanced weapons before becoming cyborgs, and having it implanted in their robotic bodies, it makes a lot of sense.

Hmm...Yes that does make sense...Ok here's what I got about the ninjas and their powers so far:
Scorpion-Teleporting/realm travel, pyrokenesis(controling fire). The spear is a ninja weapon.
Sub-Zero-control over the temperature of air molecules(basicly freezing stuff even if it's fire)
Smoke-Demolecularize?(Not even sure if that's a word)Basicly he breaks down his body(hence the smoke look when he dissapears and reapears). The spear is a ninja weapon.
Cyrax-???
Sektor-???
Ok so for all we know Cyrax and Sektor never even had powers. They could have just been ninjas with rocket launchers or something.

I'm assuming that since both Sektor and Smoke share a teleport uppercut, that as a human, Sektor probably had a teleport punch like Scopion, too. And it's possible that Cyrax could have used a net, tho I doubt it would have a green glow to it. But other than that, I think they were just your ordinary aassassins.

Of course, how a clan of some-what-traditional assassins came upon such tech is beyond me.

That wouldnt make sence cause then he would be exactly the same as Ermac including the red uniform and his powers. I think that they were just plain ordinary warriors that volunteered to become cyber because of their loyalty to their clan.

Then you should read their MK3/UMK3/MKT biographies. For example Sektor's bio states, quote:

Sektor is actually the code name for unit LK-9T9.

So what you claim to be their "Final" Names are just their code names and what you say to be their code names are units, got it? smile

First of all, didn't MK:Mythologies ay that the Lin Kuei all had special powers, while the true Japanese ninjas relied on weapons and fighting skill.

Further evidence of this is the character Tremor from MK:Special Forces. I believe he was a former Lin Kuei and had the power to control earth (earthquakes and such).

Scorpion gained his powers after he went to the Netherealm. Hanzo Hasashi had no such power, and that's why he couldn't stand up to SZ before.

True, but look at Smoke (and Hydro if you count him). They specialized in elemental traits as well and fighting skills.

Smoke controlled the power of smoke (go figure).

Ah, but Tremor was apart of the Black Dragon. Not only did the ninjas rely upon skills, but they also believed about elements.

I believe Sektor and Cyrax did have those elemental powers. Let'se see what I have to say *racks brain*.

Sektor: Probably the power of Earth. Ninjas did believe in elements, spiritual powers and the "Third Eye". Earth was one of these elements.

Cyrax: I think he might have electricity or wind.

My ideas may be whack, but that's what I think.
